Need some advice on mods I'm confused please help

Have a 12 evo x mr with a k/n drop in filter & ecu tek tune.

Was wondering some opinions from those who have modded.

Don't want to change oem exhaust, have no place to keep it I just cleared out the parts from the last car.
What would you get, I have a small budget.

Example 3 port ebc selenoid grimspeed?
3" downpipe , or upper/ lower intercooler piping?

Or do I need a breather mod first cai or maybe a better bov ?

Like I said earlier, dont know much about these cars & I'm looking to avoid mistakes made on my last car.

Thanks for your time & opinions, I know some are going to have preferences.

So any input would be awesome, thanks again.

I'd like to be in low to mid 320-350whp 320-350wtq if its possible.

I would def. suggest the UICP. A down pipe won't help you much without doing the rest of the exhaust, possibly the 3-port if your getting it tuned.

you can reach your goals for sure with basic basic mods. Shoot us a PM if you need some help with picking the right parts

UICP and TP would give you some decent gains, but the tp really helps more with a cbe. DPs don't offer a lot for the effort and value unless you protune and/or upgrade the turbo, but that's subjective and has been debated by many the forums.

I know you said that you don't want replace the exhaust, but as anyone here will tell you, the catalytic converter is one of the most restrictive things on your car!

You could upgrade your BOV if you want the noise (keep in mind you have to tune it post MAF then). But realistically if you crush the OEM BOV you can hold upwards of like 32 PSI.

I would agree with the previous poster about a down pipe. It's not that useful unless you have a bigger turbo. But you gotta get rid of that cat!!!

FMIC, lower and upper piping.
Intake, keeping in mind the K&N Typhoon does not fit the MR.
If you have it in your area I would recommend E85 conversion (needs injectors and fuel pump). It's the most effective way to make more power for the least amount of money. Again, if you have it in your area.

Yes the car is ecu tek tuned, so I'm just looking to up some power.
Then a retune.

Some easy small things would be a UICP, AEM intake, maybe a 3 port + a tune.

Skip the BOV and downpipe.

Changing the intake and UICP would be my first move. Next, I would get a 3-port and a tune.

You should really consider changing your exhaust.

When I was creating my list of parts for upgrades, I looked in the dyno section at people that had similar numbers that I was hoping for. Pretty easy way to find some info.

i have the mods in my signature. Depo racing has some very cheap mods you can do....I ordered my 3in LICP through them and it fit like a glove. Im getting a dyno tune by Chris @ AMS in July with a 3 port and im shooting for 340ish whp.

Guess your right, a buddy of mine told me exhaust is the first place to start.

Where am I gonna put an oem exhaust?

Would love the baddest exhaust made, but local popos don't like loud exhaust.

Once I got hit with loud exhaust criminal summons, I dodged a bullet on that one.

Thats the only reason I'm hesitating, because I hate the oem exhaust.

I know u have a tight budget but check out some of the ETS exhausts. Right now im running the AMS DP, ETS 200 cell HFC and V2 exhaust setup. Its a little louder in the cab then i would like but the car just growls on the outside and sounds great. For your situation, they also have the V2 quiet. Whatever u do dont go with a test pipe. You gonna get pulled over for sure if the cops around your area r that bad about that kinda thing. Not to mention the smell... With the V2 quiet its just a little bit louder than factory unless u go FT. Im some what new to the MODs game but i have a 2012 GSR and basically did the upgrades u r looking to do. I prob dont have to tell u that each of the MOD's listed above will have different yields in power. Test pipe giving u the best bang for the buck but then u have to consider what I said up top. I would def do full exhaust, intake and UICP then tune and u should be where u r looking to be. Advice from a noob but I think everyone would back me up on that.

What kind of power are you putting down, I'm just curious.
You will make more power with the gsr, just locking a few ideas.

Go all out do a turbo back ams HFC down pipe & cat back with ams cai & a 3 port.

Or plan b, boost controller HFC uicp maybe a down pipe only if recommended by shop.

part of me would grab the same package from ets, but price & quality wise to close to call.

I like both in different ways, I want to do it right.

The thread mentioning 45whp gain from ebs & intake.

Only neg I see with ams is I only saw a single outlet.

The only neg thing I see with ets I donf know if its worth it, especially if cost wise to ams.

Otherwise I think If I had to choose would be the ams,
Decisions decisions.

Tomorrow, I decide. Hopefully I get it right.

Can't afford to get pulled over for loud car, I fast means loud.

Unfortunately cops don't, a crammed zo6 can fly at wot & it's ok.
