Evo rough idling after installing intake.

Hey everyone!

Was hoping I could get some insight on the rough idling issue I'm having with my car right now.

When I first purchased the car, not too long ago, it was rough idling badly. Bouncing between 500-2000 rpms. Realized the vacuum line had split and I replaced it and it's been fine ever since.

I recently bought a new ETS intake and installed it on my car earlier last week. Just today while I was at a stop sign it started rough idling badly. I checked the vac lines and they were fine. Was wondering if anyone on here had a idea of what it could be?? Any ideas would be appreciated!

Do you have a heat shield in place? Check your fuel pump relay too.

Was your AC/Heater on?

You most likely will need a heat shield. The fans in the front of your car is messing with the MAF through the exposed cone filter.

Its a common issue with open element filters.

Heat shield isn't in place. I know its dumb. I'm going to put it in today after I get off work. The AC was on. But even after I turned it off it was still bouncing irratically.

Try resetting the ECU and let it relearn it's parameters.

Mine used to do that pretty often until I put the heat sheild on. I rarely have it happen since then.

Check for leaks, scale the maf, after all that and issue persists you may need an air straightener of some kind
