Can anyone give advice on ordering a X from the factory?

Can you guys tell me about the process of ordering a brand new X from the factory? I want the car exactly how I want it since it will be the last car I buy until I have kids. Up here in the Northeast there aren't many options to go around and most of the GSR's are bare bones. Is it possible for dealers to order from other dealers throughout the US?

Ideally, I am looking for a 2013 CB GSR with SSL, NAV, LED interior lights, and aero kit.

Thanks in advance!

As long as you go to a Mitsu dealer, they can get you one ordered direct from factory, or they can go about working with another dealership if there is one that you want elsewhere. But then you come into the issue of making a deal with them.

Like the other guy said, you can go to any dealer and have them place a factory order for you. It will take possibly 4 months to arrive. Might be a 2014 model, but that won't be a problem since everything is pointing to zero changes on the 2014.

You may want to have a local dealer do what's called a dealer-locate for a 2013 Cosmic Blue with Sight & Sound and Sunroof & Leather. If they can find that, you'll be all set. The Navi, LEDs and Aero kit can be installed at the dealer.

Yep ordered mine from factory took about 3-4 months...put a $500 downpayment down on the car..fully refundable..up to the dealer on that one I think....the way it works is from factory they send a base model then when it hits the port stateside they install the options like navi and aero kit...then send it to the dealer...mine was at the port for like 2 weeks

That is what I would like to do. I feel like the dealer will screw me if I dealer locate then install extras later. The only downside to a factory order is no money saved.

Not necessarily a downside here. You can still save money on a factory order. You should aim to pay invoice (or less if you can negotiate it). Why? Because the dealer has zero flooring costs (which means they don't need to pay any costs to keep the car in their inventory). At invoice price, they still make a little money. Most dealers would be happy to do a factory order for invoice price because it's an easy sale for them.

I would say go in with the mindset of buying the car for under invoice and see what they say. It also depends on the dealers in your area. I'm in the NYC area and the dealers here get pretty competitive with each other - so deals below invoice are possible if you work the dealers hard enough.

I have been working with my local mitsu dealer for over 2 months to find the Evo I wanted. The problem my dealership ran into is that I have employee pricing and no one wanted to trade an evo to them for the employee price.

Finally worked with a dealer to get a 2013 WW Evo X MR Premium on a truck to Ohio.

I was told it takes 2-4 months to get an Evo from the factory. Talk to your local dealer, there is a large shipment of Evo's coming into port very soon since springtime is on the horizon.

You made the mistake of telling them you had employee pricing... I got employee pricing as well..but they didn't know it until the day I went in to sign the papers once the car was already in the service bay cleaned up and waiting for me....got like 4 grand off sticker I think it was

Go to a dealer. They will simply order you one. Basically a good dealership will do one of two things. First they will look with in about 500 miles of them and see if any match that. If not, they can just order it. Depending on when you order, it can take up to 3-4 months.

Because you're asking for a $40k car they may ask for you to show them you actually have the means to buying it (credit application).

Any dealer in my state was willing to order one for me, except for one - supposedly they had reached their max allotment for Evo's. The dealer I am purchasing from picked up an order from another dealer before it left Japan (although they pretended like they actually placed an order for me). I put 1k down and had to talk to several dealers but finally got to about 800 below invoice. It arrives April 14th. PB MR Touring w/ Nav

Allotments aren't set in stone, they are some-what flexible based on previous sales. However, there is a limit to them at some point. So it is feasible that they did reach their allotment, especially with an MR (we order far less of them).

I know its far but I know they have shipped Evo's out of state before ... they sell more Evo's then anyone in the country. So they have what youre looking for and I am sure for much cheaper then what you can get at your local dealership.

Talk to Sam!
