I see what you mean and that sounds about right. Tho the OP made it sound like it was just the loose gravel that was the problem which I feel like once it detects the tires slipping, it will cut power and do magic to make the car stable. However, I agree with you that I think he was going in way too fast for any of that to be of any use or help. It was just interesting to me to think about what may have happened. Glad all is okay.

To walk away from this was definitely a blessing...if both were casualties, would've been tragic for sure...hopefully he learns his lesson...To survive a tour and almost die in your own soil for something as idiotic as speeding let alone reckless abandonment...

Some people were discussing the ASC earlier...I never drive with it on unless its raining...one time I was turning onto a busy street from a dead stop with the ASC on...had to give it a little gas and it slid my car completely sideways....never again. And yes it was just a little gas.

That sounds like a tire issue to me. I've never had this happen (stock Yoko's or Conti DWS), and I've never turned ASC off. Are you sure it was just a little gas??
