Down pipe sizing

Alrighty. So i have a 3in test pipe and 3in CBE. Not really looking to upgrade the turbo and from the searching I have done therew isnt much of a gain with a DP on stock turbo or a very marginal gain. So my question is.....Is there a down pipe that goes from 2.5in to 3in that will help my exhaust fit a little better and Be leak free? When i initially bolted up my test pipe to the stock DP i had a leak so i had to adjust it but my car kinda sounds like a pissed off tractor lol. or a "dump truck" my friends say lol. Thanks guys.

Flow is more important than size. And one aspect of flow is not letting the exhaust from the wastegate ruin the flow from the turbo, itself. So, rather than look for a tapered DP, I'd be looking to see if you can afford/get a divorced (i.e., separate tubes for main and wastegate) DP. Also, if you're not running a cat, then emissions don't seem to be an issue to you. Maybe go crazy and get a direct-dump (from wastegate) DP.

I literally just had to deal with this...checked every auto store around me with no luck when trying to find the right size...2 3/4".....what I did was use the stock gaskets from the cat/downpipe end and one of the grimmspeed gaskets for the other end of the testpipe...its a crush type of gasket so it can compress a bit without leaking any air...and while under there I discovered I had another gasket leak at the next flange....good thing I ordered two of these, no more exhaust leaks

If you want power gains from your DP, look into a Wide mouth, like what AMS and ETS sale.
