I don't think Mitsu has the slightest inkling to do that. They are do busy trying to make a street legal golf cart that runs on water

And then there's the thing about the older cars not meeting today's requirements, which is why the current one is bigger and with a bunch of airbags and moving around a few extra hundred pounds. So yeah, we can rule that out from ever happening, just like how you can expect that the Civic will never be what it was in the mid/late 1990s, no matter how much more hp and/or torque you throw at it.

With some people speculating that used Evo X's will appreciate once Mitsubishi moves on to the new platform, it's hard for me to grasp that a "gas guzzler" will be highly sought after when Premium eventually cost $10/gallon. Or maybe once this hybrid technology takes over, the demand for premium will go down driving down the price.

Don't get me wrong, I would love it if that were true but it would have to be completely stock and very low miles for anyone to offer a penny over book value. Watching those classic car hunting shows, people are always more excited to find a car with all OEM parts in order. They always frown when there is a new engine/wheels/interior/etc...
