BOV Question

Thinking about ordering this
http://www.maperformance.com/turbosm...off-valve.html
what is the stock diameter? I've got an X MR.
Also what's the difference between that one and this one....
http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Turb...rce=GoogleBase

Is there any differences other than the obvious color and one being compact?
Should I spend the extra $150 and get the 2nd one?
Thanks

Also have a quesiton about this...

Doesn't say includes upper intercooler pipe but it shows it in both pictures. Anybody ordered this? Does it include pipe or not? Any reviews about the pipe. I didn't order the Injen intake and UICP because of reviews I read on here.

If I recall correctly you don't need an aftermarket BOV on Evo's. If you wanna hear the spool/turbo/suction get an intake.

I know I don't need an aftermarket BOV I know it won't add any power. I just want the swoosh and pop.
The K&N intake and turbosmart BOV was the set up I wanted and then I saw this video and now its the set up I'm getting.

I understand that but if thats the case you got the wrong car for that you should have got a GSR if you want to hear woosh sounds with the MR the only way you will hear it is if every time you shift the SST you take you foot off the gas which will cause the car to buck when you put it back on the gas.
Save your money for other things or trade it in for a GSR thats the only way you will fully enjoy a VTA BOV and get the wooosh you are looking for.

For more info read this thread that should answer your question

Already read that thread, and I have an MR and I do hear the stock BOV when I shift. (Not in auto mode) I can only hear it from 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th. Just a whistle sound. That being said I'm going to have to disagree with not being able to hear BOV on MR w/o taking foot off gas while shifting. Since nobody could answer my initial question I'll just call the company

I had a stock BOV and then I switched to the Turbosmart dual port that you listed.

It has made NO difference in sound. I have a ETS intake. and The sound it makes is literally the same as the stock one. (I have it in recirculation mode)

this being said I advise not buying it. it will just give you more trouble with flutter than not.

To find the size, take a ruler and go outside and measure the one on the car now...

The two Turbo smart BOV's you have show are similar, but different in the fact that the More expensive one is a Evo Specific where the cheaper Kompact one is a universal one. Notice how it has a smaller inlet and outlet for the dual port than the Evo specific one? The Universal one is a 20mm inlet and outlet size. I do know know the Exact size of the Evo specific one, but it is bigger.

On the K&N Intake it should included the Upper Intercooler pipe. I know that the one we sell includes the Upper Intercooler Pipe.

Let me know if you have any other questions

You might think it's rubbish but give it a try boost then change gear and take your foot off the gas while changeing then go back on it. Do that from 1st to 3rd and tell me you don't get a jerk and a clunk noise from the rear when comeing back on gas. I had a ralliart sportback with a GFB BOV the only way to hear the woosh when shifting is to let off. With your foot down popping paddles you won't get so much a fart till you back off. But in the end it's this guy's money if he wants to spend $100/$200 on a BOV that he will put back up for sale later thats on him.

After you spend 30k+ on an evo what's another $150?

When the MR shifts it does not let off the gas and blow off. Don't believe me go get in your MR and try it. The only time is when you manually lift off the gas. So basically you'll have to try and drive it like a manuel in order to get the whoosh sound. You need a GSR for that.

I hear my stock BOV when I shift..... And I don't let off gas at all. I only hear it from 1st-2nd 3rd-4th. It's not loud basically a whistle. I do appreciate everyone's advice but I've heard mixed things and also if I can hear the stock BOV.... guess I'll find out about the turbosmart one. If I'm wrong, oh well only $150 bucks.
