2014 EVO X GSR with hesitation above 6k

I have a 2014 evo x gsr with about 444 miles on it so far and the car has a bad hesitation in any gear (have not tried 4 or 5) above 6k rpms. I have tried gas from 3 different stations, I have tried it during the day when its hot, at night when its cool (relatively cool considering I am in lower NY) and I am not sure what I should do. I have seen posts of people having bad stock tunes but was not sure if there were anything else I should be doing besides bringing it back to the dealer (which is over 1hr away). Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks
Dan

Had a similar issue - dealer could never verify the concern. They replaced several fuses and the injector resistor. It doesn't happen often now. I'm hoping it's completely cleared when I replace my spark plugs during my tune and parts install. The dealer refused to inspect the plugs or reflash the car even after 3 visits! I'm @ 5k miles on my 2013.

Side note, Mitsu recommends NOT driving that way before their break in period of 650 miles as written in the manual. I followed it religiously and still came out with a problem tho ha ha

Swap the relays for some ssp black ones. They could be shot already.

Why are you even above 6k RPM? Shouldn't you be taking it easy on it for the first 500-1000?

There are different break-in procedures that people choose to follow. Some choose their break-in to be the first 600 miles. In this case you should probably be taking the car to 6k as it approaches that 600 mile mark.

But for the most part, if your car is stock, it is really pointless taking it past 6k. You will not see any gains in acceleration past 5k.

I have a certain procedure in breaking in my new cars which has worked well on all my past vehicles so I choose to do the same with this one. I will be doing full ETS supporting mods once the cobb accessport supports the 2014 gsr as well. So are there any other places to buy those relays that has them in stock?

Well seeing how the 2013 manual says the break-in is 500 miles not to exceed 5k rpm, I was not wrong. OP take what people say on this forum w/ a grain of salt because you have people trolling this forum just badmouthing everyone. SD for instance if you look at his past 20 post i'm sure 18 of them are pure negative bs. So there is a mitsu break-in but like me and someone else said. Check your fuel relays under the hood they're black. The good ones are blue my speed shop showed me mine were failed before the tune and I babied the car the first 500 miles. My car did what yours was doing but a lil worse. My tuner said my car was in limp mode, check ur relays.

Sd wtf does race have to do with ANYTHING??

Tude wasnt toward you neither you should've continued the quote one more line.

good call^ I heard it here from another 13 owner, I've never opened my manual. Further backing up my grain of salt comment. You were also wrong, you said 650 but good j on the manual i'm in Afghanistan my manual is at home

Like I said, everyone has different break-in techniques. For me, at almost 500 miles I would probably be taking my car close to 6k. This would not be for acceleration, but because when I break-in a car I slowly increase the rpm's and eventually build to redline. My newest car has been an exception because I had to drive long distance on the highway back home.

I know this thread has gotten off topic. OP.....

My 2012 had studderd also as you describe. My 2013 didnt so as much. Definitely change your fuses. After that your issue will easily be fixed with a tune.
