driver window problem

I'm having a problem with my driver's window. It will roll down but it's won't roll down automatically when you press the button all the way down. Then when you try to roll it up, it will only go up a bit and then stops. I have to push the button down multiple times to get the window all the way up.

it's not an obstruction of any sort, the auto down doesnt work either. it will go all the way down without stopping but you have to hold the switch not just one press.

The way those auto-down/auto-up gizmos work is that they feed power to the motor until the draw increases. (The increase in draw is due to the motor working harder when it reaches the bottom or top.) If there's some resistance to movement, the draw will always be too high for the auto-x function to work, so you have to hold the button.

In other words:

that can explain the auto function but what about not going all the way up even when holding the switch it stops 4 times at the same exact spot each time and you have to let go of the switch and hold it again.

What kind of lube do you recommend? I probably should do that on my Eclipse

**And I'm referring to lube for the window seal. Not "other" types of lube

I'm curious too. there's not to much you can put there without gunking up the window.

I guess it's possible the that the temperature last night could have stiffened it up since it was about 50 when it's been in the 80s lately. I'll have to see what happens when I leave work since its been sitting in the sun all day.

Spray-on white lithium grease. You have to take the inside panel off to get it in the needed place.

hopped in the car to leave wok at 430 and it worked normally, I'm assuming it was the chilly weather last night.
