Not 100% accurate. It's more so that the banks don't use those numbers. Banks use NADA when they finance cars.

We'll sell a car for whatever we think a customer will pay for it. Sometimes KBB and NADA are thousands of dollars apart. So, if we know we can get a higher dollar for it, then we may also pay more for it than NADA would say to do.

KBB is not very useful, its just a reference. Better to look at local Craigslist ads / local dealers and compare.

The type r is a true automotive icon. It's super rare and the kbb never applies to those kinds of cars. A clean title type r around here will sell for 14-15k all day long.

My evo blue books at 23k for an 05 with 26k on the clock. I'd say thats a fair number, no?
My car isn't modded...Its all original vins and matching engine Tranny...and clean title..the rarest thing on those cars lol

But yea Evos hold good value as well, BUT for some reason I see higher retaining values in STI online..

I remember being obsessed with the Type R. Now I know its definitely not worth 15k. It may be an iconic and extremely rare car( which is what you're paying for really ) but for 15k its not worth it. Sheit a brand new Evo X GSR is knocking on 40k and thats not even worth it.
