Meshless fogs

I have a cai , and im trying to remove the oem foglight mesh on my gsr,but keep the foglight housing functional, theres a lot of thread about how to remove and change the oem hardplastic on the driver side and installing the mr mesh , but im actually trying to run the foglight housing without any mesh , since i won a PB i think it would look nice but i cat find confirmation that the passenger side is removable as well and i would hate to remove the bumper just to find out that the passenger side is not removable and then put it back , order the part and have to remove the bumper again , so can u please confirm if the passenger side foglight mesh is removable as well , and if anyone is running this kind of setup can you please post a pic. Again getting rid of the fogs is not an option for me since i do like my fogs and i just order a set of ddm 3000k

the mesh and plastic pieces are removable. I don't think I would drive without the mesh though. you would collect all sorts of trash and whatnot

you already have an oil cooler on the passenger/right side hence the mesh. Iowa999 was saying that if you remove the mesh you will be putting your oil cooler at risk.

The base lancers have an aftermarket foglight assy which comes with a foglight that bolts to the existing holes by adding nutclips, but has a separate mesh surround that is added around the light to fill the hole.

So IF your fogs are interchangable - you could just 'open up ' the filler piece to remove the mesh and keep the light properly mounted. Then sell your old foglight assy...

Just a thought here...

...and just ziptie some mesh material over the coolers to protect them and keep them clean.

Mesh directly on top (of anything) provides almost no protection from stones. There must be enough room between the protecting mesh and the oil-cooler, intercooler, or radiator for the mesh to flex when it's hit by said stone and still not come in contact with the thing that it's protecting.

quite honestly, i fail to see how the oem mesh protects anything other than obscenely large objects. the mesh isn't fine enough to protect anything from the usual debris like small stones and sand. it works for protecting from big flying objects like shopping bags though. i've had my mesh removed ever since i upgraded the intercooler, can't say i noticed anything in particular.
