Need bolts specs for 2 MAF bolts on AMS intake
Need bolts specs for 2 MAF bolts on AMS intake
Hey Guys,
I just bought a used AMS short ram intake for my evo x, and it is missing the two bolts that hold the MAF to the intake. Does anyone have the specs of these so I can go snag some at a local hardware store ASAP?
Thanks!

i'm lazy and go to the dealership for bolts and stuff, but that's just me

it looks like only two torque screws (probably fine threads, didn't look) hold down the maf sensor on each corner of the maf, if that's what you mean, if in your head you're picturing 1/4 or 3/8 bolts orwhatever the frick mitsubishi uses, there's 2 actual bolts that bolt the flange (correct term?) between the maf section and the intake, on the intake side, the flange is threaded so you can tighten stuff up, there's also the gasket that goes between the intake and the maf part of the pipe (again, correct term?) not sure if you can re-use gaskets on intakes or cars in general, gaskets, even new ones for the odd time, are one of those things that can go surprisingly good or total sh*t, old gaskets already have been squished down, and have taken their form, if the old gasket holds in pressure, awesome, if it doesn't, freakin sucks, oh heres where those bolts go, and then the filter goes on the other side of that flange, hose clamped on i assume, if it were me, i would hose clamp the filter onto the flange first, and then bolt it in with the car lol, i hope this helps at least a tiny bit, i also hope what i've said is not 100% bs, cause then i would look like a total fool lol, oh well

one more picture just for kicks

or you can just walk into the hardware store with your intake and tell the workers there you need bolts that fit into those holes, I'm sure they'll let you try a few

Thanks for all the hard work you put in. Unfortunately the bolts that the AMS intake uses are different than the OEM. I think they're a much finer thread pitch. I may just take it to the hardware store today...
