Question Disconnecting battery while in storage

Hey guys,

I am not going to be driving my X for a few months and will keep it in storage. I am going to disconnect the negative battery terminal so the battery doesn't die and was wondering if there would be any issues with this? I know I would probably lose my radio station presets but was wondering if the ECU would somehow reset the flash that was done to it?

Thanks guys!

Disconnecting the negative terminal would be best. Radio stations will be lost but to answer your question, no, you will not lose any flash you've done to it. The only thing that may be lost would be fuel trims but those will settle back to where they need to be after driving it again.

Due a quick web search on 'winterizing' or 'peparing for storage' for tips on other important things to consider when parking the car for more than a month or two...

I was told by a Mitsubishi salesman that you can pull up a fuse and it will be the same as disconnecting the battery. He showed me this on an Outlander Sport though. In the fuse box under the hood there was a fuse with a little yellow tab on it. You just pull it up. Don't pull it completely up or off though. I haven't bothered really looking at the Evo fuse box for that yellow tab.
