how much gas is left at refuel?
I am wondering how much gas is still left in the tank when it hits that last blue bar and says Refuel...and also how much is left when that last bar is gone and it starts blinking faster?
Filling up every 190 miles is a bit annoying and it would be nice if I could squeeze a few more miles out of it...the most I've ever filled the tank is 12.3 gallons after the last bar disappeared after 195 miles.

I've gone at least a gallon past the indicator saying dead empty and got 13.4 gallons in afterwards.
But one thing to keep in mind is this: besides risking an embarrassing phone-call to a buddy, the gas in the tank is the coolant for the fuel-pump. I've been advise not to take cars to empty to avoid damaging the pump. No clue if that's true, but it sounded reasonable. Plus, you've now read about this on the internet, so it just became true even if it wasn't before.

I just drove mine for 15 miles no bars left and the refuel was flashing. It was out in a stretch between Indy and Chicago, no gas stations for 20 miles lol!
Think about it, the gas in the tank helps cool the fuel pump. Everyone knows someone that replaced fuel pumps multiple times in a vehicles life, this is usually the common denominator.

I have to think and plan ahead my refills days in advanced because of my daily/weekly commute to avoid over paying or having to fill in a bad neighborhood.
Miles-until-empty is estimated via amount of gas multiplied by average MPG. If your recent average MPG is especially high or low (due to driving style), your miles-until-empty will likewise be high or low.
Trying to measure how much is left by the miles you have left is futile. MPG depends on too many variables to be like "get about 240 miles until my light goes off."
Like I said before, the first time the lights goes off is about 2 gallons. The second time is about 1 gallon. 2 Gallons isn't a mandate, but more of an industry standard to give people enough time to get to a gas station.

This is my second evo x.
And for some reason, the car drives much better when it has more than half tank.
My previous 08 MR and current 14 GSR both seem to idle rough when it has less than half tank gas.
I personally don't mind fill it up frequently at all.
I think Cobb tuning also recommended that you bring the car in for tuning with more than half tank gas. I forgot to read it somewhere.
