Buying an Evo X soon, need some advise "Please Read"
I'm unsure why people say get stock or don't buy used. There are many of us who modified out cars to higher hp but don't run them into the ground. And if you are planning on buying an Evo you are going to mod it. There is no way to KNOW how a car has been driven either way. I know guys that have stock cars and their foot is always in the radiator and modified cars that baby it and just every once in awhile get on it.
The best you can do is look at the car and the owner as a whole. Does he change his oil every 3k miles. Is he **** about upkeep? Does the car have a lot of dings and scratches? Stained interior? Even stickers, I'm not into them but did he put them on straight or did he just slap them on.
IMO a person that takes care of their car "takes care of their car". If they are **** about getting dings they are **** about caring for the engine.
None of this will guaranty anything but it can help reduce the odds you get a tore up car.
So take the whole picture into consideration. One thing on its own may not tell you much but as a whole it can.
Why pass up a clean modded Evo where you are paying penny's on the $ for the mods?
It's ironic because I bet the people telling others not to get modded ones probably baby their cars and are setting up a mindset to make theirs harder to sell in the future.
