new member, emissions, help needed.

hello! I am a new owner of a 2008 ww gsr. The car has a full tbe and has no cat, because of this I can't pass emissions... I have a catless invidia downpipe/ test pipe> straightpipe> muffler and I was curious if there are any high flow cat's (something 300 cell) that I could swap in that bolt up to my downpipe? Or do I need a new downpipe? the downpipe and test pipe is one piece. Everyone, thank you for your time.

If the DP + TP are one piece you will need a new DP.

Pretty sure I saw on MAperformance.com a dp+high flow cat single pipe unit for about $300.00.

you need a stock cat to pass the emissions. So even if the DP and the TP is one piece, start looking for stock DP and CAT. I have a stock cat about 500 miles on it if you need it.

that sounds good, thank you.
i dont really want to go to stock, i would rather have a high flow cat that will still pass emissions, i will probably just sell the catless dp unless you think i should hold on to it.... thank you guys

They don't measure emissions in Utah? If they do a HFC will probably not pass.

Can always just put the stock on for the emissions test, and when you pass just switch it back to the test pipe.

I don't have the stock exhaust, and neither does the person I bought the car from.
they plug my car into the computer and it reads good (cobb ap)
Then they have to do a physical check to see if there is a cat
the reason that this is so difficult is because they have cameras watching the whole process.
I think the cameras come with the emissions stands when a shop gets one, to ensure no illegal passing. Thank you everyone for the inputs!

AMS makes a 300 cell HFC, don't know if it would pass though.

Its all done through the OBD2, both places say that all I need is an actual existing cat.
I'm going to just buy another downpipe and sell my invidia catless. Suggestions for decent catted downpipes would be great! Under $500 would be awesome. thank you fellas.
