Is this when the atheist explains that it's "lo" and not "low"? (It's short for "look.")

Oh, 'abused' is too light of a term.

2010 GSR with 52k

One week after purchase - SSP CMC snaps in half. Improper install seemed evident. Replaced with AMS CMC

One month post purchase - Spec III clutch(told by previous owner that it was "new") blows up on the way to work. After ripping the tranny out, it was obvious that the diff pins had backed out also. Again, improper install. When we dropped the tranny, flywheel bolts fell on the ground. All the gears were completely chewed up. Rebuilt the tranny and threw in a Exedy twin.

about four months later the timing chain stretched. Replaced with updated chain.

next to go was the idler pulley. Replaced with metal pulley kit.

It's safe to say that I could be getting close to 3D's record from all the money i've spent .

Live and learn I guess...

I have the rear diff ordered but i am very confused about the fluid change.

I understand that the ACD takes ATF and the rear diff takes diaqueen LSD. But how do I go about changing the ACD/AYC pump fluid?
I know that the MUT tool will be needed but if I drain the pump and refill it, would it be safe to drive to the dealer to get it bled?

there are two separate compartments to the rear diff. You can indeed fill both. the gear oil is a pretty basic fill, where as the ayc you can just fill normally and drive STRAIGHT to the dealer to get it bled. It will whine at you on the way there. It is ok though to drive to the dealer with unbled ayc. There was one member on here or other evoxforum who got a ayc pump change and drove for months with a whine and finally went back and they rebled ayc and it was fine since.

Regarding the ayc pump, just pull the fuse for it.

Don't do this. It has been said many times before that this will in time kill your ACD.

Never heard of that. And a trip to the dealer with the fuse pulled to get the pump blead is better then driving with a pump running with no oil.

While I can't disagree with the claim that it's been said that driving with an inactive pump is bad, I completely dispute the idea that it's bad. Based on both experience and an understanding of how the system works, I can say with high confidence that driving around with a dead pump or the fuse pulled won't hurt anything.

Reread that sentence over and over until you fully understand what you just said. Although I don't have the time to go searching for threads I can say with full confidence that with a fuse pulled will hurt something over time...

Cool. Can you also say why you think that the ACD would be harmed by never being activated? (I'm also curious why you think that the ACD would be harmed but the AYC will not, but that can wait.)
