Aftermarket trunk questions!
Aftermarket trunk questions!
I've been looking stuff up but can't seem to find my answer.
How does the VIS Do-Luck replica compare with an authentic Do-Luck?
Are they identical?
Is VIS that bad - it seems like 50/50 with peoples experience with them.
Its just a huge cost difference between the two.
THANKS!

here's VIS on mine...
the fitment is about 80%

center light fits perfect

trunk doesn't sit all the way down.. a few mm higher. only noticeable up close

tail lights have minor gap... tested it out in the rain, nothing got through.

Hmm i may just put a up a bit more and get the Do-Luck (I'm way too OCD if its off haha). The three month wait kinda sucks though :/ those are the tail lights I'm thinking about getting too, they look sick!
I see official Do-Luck trunks on sale on craigslist quite often.. they go from 800-1000$ still. I was able to pick this one up for $300
the tail light was a PITA to install. Fitment was ok, but you have to play around with the LED bulbs. 1 bulb plugged in wrong and you get failed AWD warning and failed cruise control. There's no instruction menu beside a quick youtube video.

our experience selling authentic is that people love the fitment and its near stock quality depending on the brand. As with the replicas, they are not bad at all they've actually improved significantly in the past few years, they just require more body work to get perfect.
I'd read all the recent problems with Do Luck before you do that....

just remove one of your OEM trunk lifts. The VIS trunk is much lighter so you only need the one, and the trunk will settle without the pressure on it
