Front Brake Pads after only 11K
I'm from Pennsylavania and we have anual auto inspections. I've had my 2013 EvoX GSR for about a year and I purchased it new. My car failed inspection for tires (which I expected after reading about the poor tread life of the Yokohama ADVAN A13C that came with the car). But, I was really surprised when the tech told me that the front brake pads needed to be replaced. I took a look at the pads while the care was on the lift and it appeared to be about 50% of pad left. Now, keep in mind, I didn't actually measure the pad thickness but I've changed brake pads before and that is what the wear seamed to me. The question is how many miles should one expect to get from the original factory pads?
Oh I probably should tell you that I don't take the car to the track it's a DD.

Same thing happened to me...
My front pads were thick in the middle but the edges were a little bit worn out. Every single time I would brake softly, my brakes would squeek loudly. I replaced mine at 15k for some Autozone DuraLast Gold pads for the time being and will upgrade later.
Also, my stock yokohama tires are still on and I currently have 21k miles. Will get some Nittos or Hankooks sometime this month.

Okay, I took the car to another garage for inspection and the brakes were fine. I was told that with the amount of pad left I should be able to get another 10-15k on them before they need to be replaced.
I believe that had I rotated the tires more often I don't think that they would have been a problem either....you live and you learn.
Thanks for the responses.

Someone obviously doesn't have a X MR but thinks they know more than the X MR owner.

Couple things in no order of importance:
Check your alignment, this was a big issue as well, and probably most of the cause of the Advans wearing out so fast. I easily got 15k+ out of mine.
Autozone brakepads on a $35k performance car? Spend a little bit more money and opt for Girodisc magic pads, your car will thank you.
