Exhaust cut out ? Anyone done it

I have a 11 GSR and have the basic bolt ons: intake, ic pipes upper and lower, tune, down pipe, test pipe and STOCK EXHAUST.
Reason i don't want an exhaust is, its to loud and drive my family in it daily.

I do know i can install a exhaust cut out ! For under $200 i can get a decent one electric, so i don't have to jack up car and remove plate etc.
Like this when i go to the track, i just open it up and actually make more power since is all open.

So is anyone running this set up, or thinks its a good idea or not.
Help me out, thanks guys.

Just installed exhaust dump on my IX. Its english racing exhaust dump copy. Its an boost activated 60mm wastegate thats welded into testpipe. I used 140$ wastegate for that application, cause I feel that it will not see extremely hot exhaust temps. Thus it will last a long time in that location. Took it for first ride and its awesome! Wastegate comes with warious springs so you can have it open at desired boost level. Mine opens up around 15psi. Im my opinion English racing had great idea designing that dump. they said thay will make one for X!!
Btw it sounds awesome when opened up!

You got rid of an '04 for an '11?!!

Well, either way, I'll tell you what I've learned since switching to Evos: with all previous cars, a proper exhaust with mild sound was usually the best Dyno exhaust, too. But since coming to Evo Land it seems that all that is needed is as little restriction as possible. I'm running an engine-back AMS exhaust (stupidly loud & obnoxious) on my IX, and it produces a ton of power. Based on this logic, it would seem that you will get the power you want from a cut-out.

But based on what you're saying about the family (I have a Recaro baby seat in my IX) you might want to just pay the bucks for a full, proper exhaust.

I don't have an Evo X, so I digress. But I'm curious as to how your scenario turns out!

If exhaust cutout means open dump, then yes, I am running a similar system.

I have an ETS O2 dump, stock cat, and stock cat back. Opens up at around 16 psi.

Screams at WOT, quiet when driving normally. Really stealthy IMO
