Stock Exhaust Question

Sorry if this has been discussed, I searched here and google with no answer.
I'm a newbie. Just bought a 14 MR, and notice there's more of the black exhaust residue on my right side vs the left which looks almost clean, is that normal or should they be equally dirty.
In idle it seems both are flowing equally, I drive mostly granny with occasional spirited driving.
Here's pics of my ex and a couple of my stock X. All I've done is clear bra the whole front, mud flaps and debadged. Phantom black is sick.
Thanks for any advice.

It's just a single pipe going to your muffler, so any imbalance doesn't mean anything.

Instead of showing pictures of your ex-girlfriend's Mazda, maybe your time would be a little better spent showing pictures that actually highlight what the issue is?

Thx Chut26. Your statement makes sense. I was curious because some cars don't vent out of one exhaust unless engine is in higher rpms.
I'm just concerned that it was some sort of valve or what ever(don't know a lot about cars) not working properly or something.

Fair enough, but you might want to work on reading comprehension, no where did I say anything about an ex-girfriend, I was just sharing pics which included more than a Mazda, as such here's pics of the exhaust.

I lol'd, came from the same camp with a 2010 MS3 and just moved to a 2014 MR as well.

With a white MR I haven't noticed much of an issue honestly.. but I'd assume the stock tune is pig rich which would contribute to the issue. On my mazda it was horrendous how much soot would collect on the rear bumper.

Nice call with the clear bra, wish I did that. I added UR mud flaps at 500 miles

Thanks guys. I feel better. Yeah the soot on my MS3 was ridiculous, it's not quite as bad with the MR but spitting out its share.
I'm so happy with the car. I almost bought a 15 STI but I preferred the DSG which is pretty awesome.
I can't wait to do some mods. Probably start with uicp and licp along with a better intake system. I want to get an exhaust but most seem loud and I do not want any droning at high way speeds. So far I like the ETS quite exhaust or the Akropovic but I think the Akro might be too loud.

ETS Quiet isn't very quiet compared to many other exhausts out there.

I'm running a Cobb dp, Cobb hfc, and magnaflow catback, and it's quieter than my ms3 was with just a test pipe.

That sounds really good. I'm really interested in the Akro but don't know if it will be too loud. I've seen videos but worry about droning.

I test drove a 2013 STI that had a few bolt ons and an aftermarket exhaust(sittin on lot from trade in) and when I turned the key I was like Yes! effing awesome sound, this boxer grumble sounds sick. After five minutes I wanted to kill myself. Couldn't imagine a drive on the high way.

don't worry about it - it's just a split exhaust - without a balance pipe or discrete exhaust paths the majority of particulate will go out the more natural path of least resistance.
