Help buying an Evo X
Alright guys once again i need your help. I'm looking to buy an Evo X and I found a guy selling and Evo x mr for $15, he says it is fine and nothing's wrong with it and I ran the carfax on it and found out that it's been in an accident, still trying to figure out why he's selling it for such a low price. What else can be wrong with it? I'll link pictures of the cars history and engine bay pictures of it. Thanks for reading!!
List that he had up on his Craigslist post:
Black pearl evo x mr $15, 000 obo 90k miles
Uicp/licp
synapse DV
sakura intake
widemouth downpipe (not installed will sell separately)
Cobb AP

Please run far away for this! I get it , you really want an evo. And this is a cheap price, but take a step back and look at what you are buying. It's been in an accident, unless your a pro, or bring it to a shop, you have no idea what was repaired.
It's been abused to the point of it needed a new tranny. 90k is a lot of miles but with proper maintenance it should not have needed to be replaced.
Your going to spend 15k and already have a car with almost 100k. How much usable life does this car have left?
This isn't a honda civic, it won't last with only oil changes and new spark plugs. Your rolling the dice on how long before the engine gives out
Like I first stated, wanting something bad will cloud your judgment on what is really the right thing to do. I know the feeling, i wanted a evo for the last 5 years. Almost pulled the trigger on used many times , but saved up , drove a ralliart for three years and waited till in could buy one new.
Not saying you need to buy new but just not this one!

At the end of the day with repairs that may have to be done considering the history of age of the car, dude would have been able to buy a brand new unharmed/unmolested evo.
^^^I just realized how bad my grammar is on that post LOL. but yeah hopefully he gets the point.
new evo or better condition used one. He'll probably be like "man forget those evom guys they dont know what they're talking about. I'm buying this car" 3 months later...new thread title "engine blew, best place for rebuild" lullzzz
