26-28 Psi with stock everything other than AMS intake

2011 EVO X GSR with AMS Intake up to 28psi

Using MAF calibration with the Cobb Accessport the maps they are giving me are giving me too much boost. I'm to the point i want to return the car back to stock and continue to run on the stage 1 maps.

I want the intake in for the noise it creates. But if I'm going to break the motor it's not worth it.

Anyone else running the same setup and how much boost are you running?

I've ran multiple maps including maps from Cobb. I'm currently is discussion with Cobb and i will see if they can continue to trouble shoot my issue. If anyone else is running just intake with AP could you throw some input please?

Thanks

With just an intake you should be running the stage 1 maps, not stage 2...

And if you are overboosting with the correct stage 1 map, run the lwg map and all should be good.

Just got a LWG 91 octane v403 map from Cobb. Going to try this one.

Had the same issue running APv3 and is the reason why Im trying to off load mine now. The customer service from Cobb was excellent. Just could not fix my knock sum problem and boost issue. I would overboost once in a while and it was not very consistent but still worried me especially because I was expecting 0 knock sum. I would say try the 91 LWG maps or the 91 ACN maps. Maybe that will help but I am sure Cobb's customer service will take good care of you the best they can. All else fails take my route and open source. lol. Good luck.

I had a similar issue when running a ETS intake only. Once i switched to the low waste gate duty map it became much more consistent.

Still running with this issue even with the low waste gate maps. I'm to the point where i either need a pro tune or uninstall the intake. Ehh

I would ditch the Cobb all together and just get an open source tune. I do not understand why people pay $500ish for an Accessport then pay another $400-500 for a "pro tune" Just save the money and get an open source tune from the get go.

They only do it for an easy way to return to stock, have multiple maps and the ability to switch them, or they want the additional benefit of a code reader if they want/cheap gauge solution for some variables.

The Cobb piece isn't the worst, but I do see reasons why people have them <shrug>

Got rid of the intake. Still same issue. Definitely the Cobb's tune. Now hitting a peak 26 psi only in 1st and 2nd gear.

Still to high right?

I been using my AP since 1,000 miles have 21,000 Stage 2 SF intake TBE....Boost pill removed 25-26 PSI.....No issues....I just wanted safe easy power...While pro tunes aren't always safe...

Do yourself a favor and post a datalog of the issue you are encountering. For you, I'd suggest a 3rd gear WOT log, showing Accel Pos, Boost, WGDC (Fine and Course), Boost Correction, Ignition Adv., Knock Sum, LTFT used, Load, MAF, and RPM. From there we may be able to pinpoint.

Cobb replied to my 3rd gear pulls on my data logs. They said everything look great. I was scared about the 26psi in the lower gears so i removed the intake. Like my alias says "TurboNubCake" so i don't know much about turbos. Couple guys i work with say "oh thats high" so put a little scare in me.

The files are excel and says "invalid file" when trying to do an attachment? hmm
