New clucth

looking to upgrade the clutch on my X. currently have the stock one, and am trying to figure out if i want to go stage 2 or stage 3..I was looking at the exedy stage 2 HD and also the spec stage 3 but I read some bad things about the spec so I'm kind of leaning toward exedy. Any other options that would be better? And if so, do you know if theres a vendor on here that sells that clucth?

I went with the Exedy after my stock one. I've had it for about 8,000 miles and love it. Definitely took some getting used to bc it grabs really quick. But so far, I'm very happy with my decision.

Exedy has some good quality clutches. I have a stage 3 clutch in my car and it releases really high, but once i got used to it, it was a really smooth ride.

go for a competition twin disc clutch. Exedy stage 2 is a fun race clutch. But if you don't like having to rev to 3k rpms and still get a rough take off and reverse being a nightmare then don't do it. I hated that clutch, and it caused clutch drag issues after only 9k miles on the car.

Do your homework, a crappy clutch can ruin the car.

Twin disc is a little too pricey for me..trying to stay under $800 for the clutch or around there. What other ones would you recommend?

Also does anyone have any experiences with the act clutches? If so, how do those feel?

I have never owned a ACT clutch, but when I was looking for one. All of my research pointed to the ACT HDSS. Reviews are awesome, good price, a great clutch feel. Just my 2c.

Drove an evo ix with an ACT HDSS and it felt great. If I were going single I'd probably look strongly at that clutch.

But I love my carbonetics twin (same as ats), one of the best mods I've made. The price of the twin didn't bug me much after I realized I was paying $$$ a second time to change a clutch cause I didn't do it right the first time. That was a $2k mistake overall.

My dad had installed an act hd clutch on his modded srt4. Great clutch feel, nver slipped once. He's put about 40k miles on that clutch alone, granted he doesnt track the car, just occasional highway pulls. Im lookin into getting the act or comp stage 3
