aFe vs AMS Intake

Well, it's another one of those threads, but for me.

Basically, I am going for the loudest, yet highest gaining Intake.

From what I have researched, the AMS is the loudest anyone has to offer. Aside from that, I have heard that aFe has better gains, and I can go on aFe untuned for a while on that.

I will be getting a Cobb V3, I just don't know how soon.

Another thing, the aFe is $140ish less than the AMS

Not sure about the gains comparing between them, I can tell you that AFE is a great product and they will stand behind their product 100% and will help you with whatever you need.

Any open element intake is going to be comparable regarding both noise and gains. I don't know much about AFE, but AMS makes a great product. Just know you have to get a tune to run it, because it uses a larger MAF housing than the stock one. You could also look at the ETS intake, it is open element, can run untuned, and is well priced.

Multiple people have mentioned the ets since I posted this, I am probably going with the ETS intake.

Just gotta make sure I can run untuned. I trust you, just I like verifying from more than 1 source.

Thanks!

I am also thinking about getting this as well, while I am at it. Yay or nay with the stock tune with a ets intake?

Whatever intake you choose ( i like ETS) you will have to tune if you replace the MAF housing.

If the intake uses the stock MAF housing, a tune is NOT required, but still recommended.

So you CAN run the stock tune with ETS intake. But for max reliability/peace of mind, get it tuned.
