Occasional weak starts
Hey EvoM.
Once every few months(3-4 months in between), starting my Evo has weak starting power. It would click and not wanna fully charge to life. Try again. Same thing. Try again, a little longer and it starts. Drive for a while. Let it recharge. Starts up fine and normal again. Weak battery? My GSR is a 2014 model year, been driving for over a year. Has 82xx miles. SO the car and battery are relatively new from the factory. Thoughts? Cause for concern?
Thanks.

Not sure about the 14's, but people were having problems with the stock battery. Some said the dealers were switching them out with optima red tops. Look into that if the problem gets worse. Unless you have one already.
I have a red top and have never had a problem.

was just about to post a thread with the same topic.
It's happened to me twice before, but it happened months apart so I didn't pay any attention to it. But today at work, it happened twice consecutively and it kinda scared me a for a second lol.
I also have a 2014 GSR model with 2,000 miles. bone stock.

I know this bumping an old thread but at least its not a couple years old. I had starting issues with my 15 EVO X within the first couple of months of owning it. I took it to the dealer only for them to tell me of course that there is nothing wrong and the battery is fine. It seems to only happen when its colder outside. So fast forward a half a year later car started fine during the summer months and low and behold it started getting cold out again and I had an issue with it not starting. It does not happen every time at least up to this point. I will see if it starts happening more frequently as I start my car in colder weather.
I was wondering if anyone has found the problem causing this and have they fixed it. Thanks

Just buy a new battery and see if that fixes it.. I mean I wouldn't really want to chance getting stuck somewhere because of a junk battery that mitsu wont replace. I think the battery only has like a one year warranty ne ways right?

Get a new battery with higher crank amps and move on with life. Car companies always put dog**** batteries in cars you're lucky to have them last a year if you have adverse temperatures.
