Torque Solution Clutch Master Cylinder Reinforcement Ring
Applications: Mitsubishi EVO X 2008-2014
Torque Solution's Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Clutch Master Cylinder Reinforcement Ring strengthens the factory unit from splitting apart. We have found that the plastic master cylinder in the EVO X can break into two pieces under even regular driving conditions. This becomes even more of a problem when an aftermarket clutch is used due to the added pedal pressure. This ring goes around the master cylinder and clamps it tightly together to reduce the risk of future failure.

Ideally, the item sounds like it would work. The problem with the stock CMC is the plastic welds break apart under increased pressure, usually from an aftermarket clutch. The ring from Torque Solution acts like a barrel band and holds the unit together.
Hell, sounds like a cheap solution for $35.

I have it on mine for about 41k miles with ACT pressure plate. Still going. Clutch pedal is very stiff. No problems yet. It is a ***** to put on as in there is no room for large hands under the hood at the firewall area to remove the master cylinder but I did not disconnect the hydraulic lines. At the time there was no recall on the clutch master cylinder just after market support parts for when it went. I did it as preventative maintenance because I knew the stock clutch was going and had read about what happens after a stronger pressure plate was installed that it may split the master cylinder. It is on it's third clutch and second transmission but still original master cylinder while pushing over 400hp.
