"Logged Timing" deviating from Timing Map, every log, every time it does, it KNOCKS!!

Having some issues... evo IX Still a newb I guess, learning how to tune...
Enclosed are my last 2 logs and a SS of my tables. Leanspool enabled to 7500.
I need some help guys...

First off my car was seeing load cells of 300 - 310 @ peak, and over the last month or so, I have lost load... Now Im only hitting 280 - 290. W/ the same boost! After I noticed this, I lowered my WGDC to see if I was "overdoing it" and it appeared I was. Lowered the WGDC to what you see here, and only hitting 1 psi less 25 - 26. Once past 5000 everything is normal! Also I have lost 15 - 20 TQ

On to issue #2. And and reason for title... So all weekend I have been trying to get my car happy again! Quite a few logs... On almost every single log I have deviation from my Timing Map. Everytime it does this, my car knocks! I have lowered my timing, and gave it a lil fuel, pretty much have it where I want it (fuel wise), but its still deviating/knocking... This is driving me Nuckin Futs! Do I need to give it some more fuel?

Issue # 3. I also have a dip in load/boost @ 4500... I have tried adding 2%WGDC to 90% and still a dip...

Edit: just realized it looks like my WGDCC interval is 10 and 4, I just moved them... They are Interval#1 "4" interval #2 "10"

All signs point to boost leak.

Less boost with same wgdc / dip in load at 4500 / loss in torque / knocking when it didnt before

You should try to enable bit10 ecu perphery and readjust your timing map. Then log MUT33 I think it is. Normally the timing map is spot on. I have been using this since Tephra made the discovery and no issues and all the bit 10 timing readings match my map.

yeah but bit 10 just controls cruise timing i thought. Anything open loop should just be base timing (from the map) and maybe bar/temp correction?

Isn't 300 load a lot for 25-26psi with your mods? And you are running some pretty aggressive WGDCs for those boost level.s

I think you have things a bit backwards. It's not that your car pulls timing and then it knocks. Your car is pulling timing BECAUSE it knocks. The knock is the problem, not the timing being pulled.

Im not sure if 300 load is a lot or not... I dont get to see any 1 elses logs. I just might be running a bit "aggressive". I basically did a lil guessing game from my first tune from 21-22psi to achieve 26, and first guess netted me that, so I never really worked my way up...

I was thinking 1 of 2 things. 1. that I had a boost leak, or I was too aggressive w/ the WGDC and was slowly killing the turbo...

To all those running 25-26psi... What loads are you guys hitting?

Which rpm range do you think is aggresive? Does any1 else think this is too aggressive for 25-26psi?

Does any1 think that my timing is too aggressive?

Your timing actually looks fine.

My suspicion is you always had a boost leak and now it has gotten worse. Like i said 300 load is high for 26psi. Should be around 280. I didn't realize you were running the stock BCS which is probably why you are running such high WGDC for 25/26 psi.

your saying that 7* is too much @ 6000 even though it read 4?

I think I do need to get this straight... Does evoscan when u sustain a "x" of knock, if say more than 3, read the * that it should be after the knock, or does it log, what it logs and you do the math? I would think it logs what it logs and you do the math... never really had more than a 3 count before all of this...

yeah bit10 should not affect anything above 3500rpm.

Hmmn... If I should be around the 280 range, which I am (280-290), than do I have a boost leak?... Ya, still running stock BCS w/ #65 pill. I actually have a GM 3-Port, but havent found any1 to install it for me...

Im hoping that its a boost leak (obviously) lol, that has just made itself known, cause I have had that dip @ 4500 for a while now... I'll find out.

I sent a pm to the shop that I go to, so as soon as I can get in there for the leak test, I'll report back...

I really appreciate the input guys, the last 3 weeks or so, I have been on edge, cause my baby isnt happy.

Keep in mind he has a aftermarket intake that does skew the maf readings, which will also skew the load readings. His 300 might be your 275

Evoscan shows the timing you are actually running, not what's in the map. If your map has 7* and you have 9 counts of knock, Evoscan will show 4*. Also, I agree with everyone else that you probably have a boost leak somewhere.

Thanx for the clarification Paul! I will definitely look into a boost leak test!

And to log MUT 33... How do I go about this? Im sure its posted somewhere, but... you know how it is sometimes... My understanding (is limited) would be to just open up the MUT table and look up 33? I have 6D87 @ 33 in my MUT table. What do I need to change it to, and what needs to be changed in evoscan? Is there anything else that needs to be done? If theres a link to this thread/post that some 1 can link me up, I'll be more than happy to read up on it!

TIA

Phil
