Sway bars feeling softer over time
or should i say, engagement of the center diff sending power to the front was extremely delayed, causing the setup to essentially operate as a rwd below 5.5k rpm?
Just talking about the center diff locking. Until it does start to lock, 50% of the torque is sent to each end of the car and this is the issue on which too many people are confused.
I think it would be more accurate to say that until it starts to lock, it sends more power to the axle with the least amount of traction.
It can't decide to send power anywhere. It starts as an OPEN differential and locks with increasing hydraulic pressure. An open differential sends more power to the side with less traction. At full lock, the differential sends 50% of the power to each axle.
This is how I understand the mitsubishi ACD to function. I have seen no information to the contrary.

Edit: Okay, I think we are talking about different things. I am referring to differential torque split and not power distribution. Slightly different things, albeit related.

You're right. I had it backwards when I typed it out. Was thinking about one thing and typing something else.

Which part are you referring to? The "no bleeding required"?
I'm referring to the picture that includes the claim that the pump has separate left and right solenoids for the AYC. The question I like to ask folks who defend that picture, since it was handed down by some godfather of bygone dance-styles and I'm nothing if not sacrilegious, is why one of the solenoids has two connectors and the other has only one. Then I watch for the ear-issuing smoke.
