Water in ARC super induction box
Water in ARC super induction box
Had rain last week, when I check the inside of the box, it has water in it. Anybody else had this problem too? What did you do to prevent water from coming in the box? Thanks
Driving in the hard rain and finding some water in the intake box is ok (to be expected).
A little bit of moisture is not bad (google water injection
). The issue is when you submerge the intake and the engine sucks up enough water to fill a piston or two... IF that happens - the car will stall. DO NOT start it again. That is when you fail the engine rods... (google hydro lock
)
So - avoid any deep puddles, eh?
AFAIK from your post you have nothing to worry about.

the stock intake snorkel has a hole at the bottom that drains out water/catches bolts/bugs/rocks/anything heavier than air in it. ARC has that filter thing on the top of the box though and it could be letting in water through the vents. Tape em up.
