Low performance tires in the snow
Its a horrible idea on a summer tire! I had my experience when I took my evo up to Wisconsin and never looked at what tires I had on the car. Halfway up there when it began to just ice, not even fully snow the car skipped all over the road at 40mph. When the snow finally came down and I pulled over in a small town I had no grip even when using no throttle and only releasing the clutch. Hard rubber turns to rock in freezing conditions. Ended up buying a set of blizzaks and had a blast after that. You would only be endangering yourself and everyone else on the road. Get a tire made for snow or at least all season.
You can find used snow tires for cheap that still have a bunch of tread on them. Don't be the hazard on the road that kills the innocent traveling family in a minivan.

Your tires are summer tires and essentially turn into hard plastic on ice/snow which renders your traction non existent.
If you can't afford snow tires, you definitely can't afford crashing your car.
I'm guessing he took the advice of the moron tire techs over countless words of wisdom provided here and ended up in a ditch. Shame prevents him from bumping this thread as he saves up the Dairy Queen dollaz to repair his G-ride.
Hi everyone. Older thread I found via search, figured better to bump one than to make a new one. Just picked up my 15 GSR. I plan on driving the Evo in the winter so looks like the Yokohama Advan A13's are a bad idea. Is an all season going to be OK to get me around? Thinking of pulling the stock tires and selling and just picking up some all seasons now. Maybe the Yokohama Advan Sport A/S?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Honestly driving this car with the aggressive stock tires is so much fun I'd at least wear those out before you made a change.
