Does a world exist where you pay less than $400 monthly for an X without leasing?

At this rate I'll be very rich when I retire and then sell my car.

Anyone looking to see an X used right now is crazy. Wait for the end of this year when they are no longer made and prices will go up a ton as people realize they can't buy their dream car anymore.

And I have 50k on my '08 GSR. Someone would be a lucky SOB if they were to pick up my car for $23k lol.

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone. I am looking to get into a newer car that I don't have to wrench on, so an X is the route I will shoot for. I will keep my eyes open, but after seeing the used car market on the X, I'm not gonna get my hopes up. I will just keep driving my G til I owe less on it. It's a sexy car, so that wont be too hard on me

Best bet would be to sell the car yourself, you will get more. Hell my truck was easily worth 24k but the dealer wouldnt budge over 18.5k. Guess how much they are selling it for? 27k....

Yes just be patient and don't give up, wait for the right deal. I waited over 9 months but picked up my 2011 WW gsr with 80k miles on the clock for $20,000, clean title, no accidents, decent service history. The seller was hard set on $22,000 but called me up from Carmax where they were low balling him on the trade, offered it to me for $20000 and i bought it immediately.

In my area 08's with 50-80k miles are right around $20k, try finding one outside your local market.

And yes, always try to sell your current car vs trading ti in. I sold my 2006 TSX for $10,500, the most dealerships were offering me was $7,000.

.
There is NO local market for me here in Arkansas. I think there might be 2 cars for sale within a 150 mile radius of me (at least in the big online markets...autotrader, cars.com etc...)

So I know I will have to travel. No worries, I flew to D.C. to pick up my first G35 and drove it back to Arkansas. Road trips are great!

If have like 10-12k and you have connections or can get into the good auctions sometimes you'll run into them in decent condition but be aware of what you are buying. I picked up a 08 GSR at the auction for $10.5k stolen recovery 50k on the dash. missing parts and such. I'm new to evos but not to a wrench so I got whatever was missing, installed what I could and now sending it to espec to do the rest. All said and done I spent 15k total but I got the things I wanted.

Shoot, I was thinking of selling, then researched what they were bringing. There is no way I'm gonna give away my '12 ss garage queen with 17,000 miles for that little. Might as well keep it for a few more years, won't lose much more.

This is always a good idea with these cars, especially the lower mileage ones that people keep in great shape.

Sorry but $23k for an 08 with 50,000 miles is not bad at all. A tad bit high, but that's right around what I paid for mine a few months ago.

Overall price is only one factor in determining monthly payments. It's a sales tactic to get more money from you in interest and its amazing how many people fall for it. If you want to pay under 400 a month, either get a bigger down payment, negotiate the price lower, or extend the term of your loan.

Swayse, what is your definition of "that little" which you reference?

I'm just curious, because based on the way you're talking you make it sound like you want get like over $30k for it. Even 30k would be outlandish if you ask me.

Seems the 03-06 evo's are almost holding a better value than the 08+. Guess that will change with time though now that they are done.

It's a paradox...

Used they are one of the most valuable, hold most value, among cars under $50K

New, they could not sell enough to keep making them
