Will full coverage be lower if you OWN the evo, based on company and deductible? versus leasing/or buying-- I currently pay $115-$118 for full.

Generally speaking it won't make a difference, at least in my experience.

Owning it makes no difference, unless you bring your comprehensive, collision and bodily injury values down. At least here in AZ, if you have a lein out on your vehicle, you must carry not only full coverage, but in most cases you have to have a 500 deductible or lower, and I think 25000/ 75000 coverage or higher. Now if you own it, you can bring those figures down, and raise your deductible, that's where you start paying less for full coverage.

I carry well above the legal requirement. The last thing you want is to get in a wreck, be at fault, and put the other parties in the hospital, where they will most definitely sue you if they don't get enough from your insurance company to cover medical costs and pain/ suffering.

Really depends on where u live. When I lived in NC insurance was half of what I pay in MD.... I have Erie now, 1000 for the year, 1000 deductible, 31.

I'm with Allstate right now. 30yo single male 500 deductible with maxed coverages. I'm in sc now. I pay 1340 or so a half for the evo and vet combined and also have a renters policy with them. If I drop either car it would drop to like 750 a half. So much for multicar discounts. I believe the vet is actually a bit cheaper than the Evo... Ever so slightly.

Insuring fun cars sucks *****. Now that gas is cheap... I pay less in a month for gas compared to insurance. I've done a bunch of quotes recently as I just got the vette and I didn't see any significant savings.

I just switched to Allstate, I pay $154 a month for two X's. $500 dollar deductible, max coverage, both cars listed as pleasure vehicles. My record isn't terrible, but its not spotless. Kept my homeowners insurance with another company too - so I didn't even score that discount.

I had the best luck with Natiowide, though Allstate wasn't that far off.

I'm more curious why the OPs insurance thinks they can just drop him because an Evo is a "Race car".

Do they drop all the supercharged factory Mustangs too? Something is fishy there.

Get USAA if you can. If not, get Pemco. I work with/against insurance companies all the time and when it comes down to paying out fairly on claims Pemco is the best and Geico is absolutely the worst.
