Congrats on your purchase, I am not going to tell you what I paid for mine but it was well north of what you paid lol. Considering this is your first real fast car, I would take it slowly and just buy some all season tires or winter tires to get you through the last couple months of winter. I purchased my car in December 14, 2014 and I had all season tires put on the car within 3 days of purchasing it. Those stock tires are not meant for winter driving conditions. Since this is your first fast car take it easy and leave it stock for a little bit and learn how the car handles. I would take it to a local autocross event and learn how it handles there in a safe and fun environment.

For anyone that lives in a snowy climate that won't buy snow tires.....you guys are idiots and also depriving yourself of one of the funnest experiences ever, Evos on unplowed roads.

I spent $530 on a set of winter wheels. They don't need to be great wheels.

Pick up a set of snow tires and spend the money to protect your car. Otherwise, wait until it stops snowing.

Lots of great snow tires to choose from. Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2, Bridgestone Blizzak, Michelin X-Ice, Goodyear, etc....

I'm going to retract my statement about the stock tires on snow. I'll Get my flame suit ready, but, they're not that bad... I drove thru 8 inches of snow the other day without an issue and took it to an unpaved lot and had a blast, you can control it if you know what you are doing, but winter tires are always better..far better. The Evos AWD system helps a lot, though.

No, you got lucky, skill has nothing to do with it.

If you had an instance while driving where you had to do a high speed maneuver to dodge something, or hard brake to stop, you would be writing a thread about your crashed EVO.

It's ignorant to suggest that SUMMER ONLY tires, especially the hyper aggressive Advan's are advisable to drive in the snow at all.

You got lucky. Lucky != skill and 'it will be fine'

I've had to drive through snow at freeway speeds with the summer tires.....it was stupid, but i didn't have any choice as i was trying to outrun the snowstorm. It's not a good feeling to have no feedback from all 4 of your tires at the lightest dusting of snow.

You must have been going really really really really slow on those tires if you went through 8 inches of snow.

Yea these are good, probably the best springs for the stock struts. Swift Spec R are what most people use, but if you're worried about the life of your struts, stick to these and only these. There are other brands out there that make good springs, but honestly Swift Springs are the best, these have the lowest drop and impact on your stock struts and bump stops and the red looks sweet.

BTW Any drop on stock wheels are going to make the wheels look sunk in... If you got the cash, buy a set of wheels around 9.5" width and check the forums for offsets on specific wheels so you know what size fits best, then get springs.

So There isn't a big change from 2014 to 2015 besides the seats? No mechanical change right?
I'm debating whether to buy 14 or 15. My goal is make the car weekend car driven. Not trying to make a daily car. If I was to make a daily car, I keep it bone stock until My pay check could increase.

Yeah the same mechanically. Seats on the 15 are the ones from a lancer. FE Evos have a little more horsepower I think and different suspension, a gloss black roof and different color wheels. Little things here and there. Good luck on the decision! If you don't mind not having bucket Recaros, it's always nice to buy a new car 0 miles from the dealership. The seats were too much for me to let go about a year ago when I was on the same boat as you. I ended up getting a 14 with low miles just because of the seats. I didn't want to go through the hassle of swapping some in or the airbag light you get with other aftermarket seats.

Yeah I read here on the forums you can get rid of the air bag light. Correct me if I'm wrong , You can reflash the ecu to take the airbag light out?

Not sure about reflashing, but there are ways to get rid of it using your current weight system.

I swapped in factory Recaros to my FE and was super easy. About an hour of work.
