Well my evo is gonna be down a while
I don't know. I wasn't at fault. It's at the auto body shop right now. I'll know more in the coming days.
Steering wheel and lap air bags went off. As you can see from the pics, suspension on that side doesn't look good. Might be some axle issues too.

I have no idea what to expect.

So, I'm a bit dazed on the finer details of what happened...
I was heading up the road, no other cars around me. Another car in front of her turned left, she pulled up to turn left, she creeped up a bit on the line, so I covered the brake (which caused a slight deceleration since it was up hill). She COULD have went right then, but she stopped, so I went back on the gas. She then pulled out in front of me... the last thing I remember is slamming the brake, realizing I was going to hit her T-bone style, so I let off the brake and swerved to try and miss... Obviously I failed at that (if she had gunned it I could have missed her, only needed an extra foot or 2) but I guess I did reduce the damage there, as if I had kept trying to brake I'd have hit a lower velocity but it'd have been a T-bone and that's not good... there would have been more personal injuries I think.
Everything after that point is a blur. I kinda remember the air bag going off, but the next thing I know, the car is on the shoulder, hazard lights on, drivers side window rolled down. I don't remember doing any of that, does the car turn the hazard lights on or roll the window down automatically? Did I do that and just don't remember?

Man sorry to hear about the car... dont worry it can be replaced. Glad your ok though! Good job pretty much saving the other person a lot of extra injuries by swerving to not tbone them directly!
It's probably not totaled depending on year and there is no reason to want it totaled. It can be rebuilt. But use this to your advantage. If you have interest in any after market hoods, bumpers or any other parts that were damaged start doing your research on prices. Many times the aftermarket part is less than the OEM. Insurance is going to write for OEM, you don't have to use what they write for. Their job is to write an estimate that puts your car back to the condition is was prior to the accident, what you do with the money is up to you. When I had my accident I ended up with a check for 6 grand and it cost me about 1500$ to fix my car.
For the price of an OEM hood there are a lot of aftermarket ones cheaper. Same with bumpers. Front sway may be damaged, look at getting whiteline or something. If the brake line is tore, look at getting updated hard lines. LICP needs replaced, you can get ETS for about the cost of OEM. There is a site that gives you prices on OEM Evo parts. You can figure out approx what the parts will cost.
Also you can choose the shop. Insurance will try to get you to network shops, you don't have to use them. If you have a shop you prefer they will tow it there.

Let me add this, glad you are ok. The only reason for wanting it totaled is the process wouid be faster. But depending on how much you put down on the car when you bought it and what it's worth, you could end up with the loan paid off but nothing extra.
Don't let people scare you about it "never being the same" it can be. Parts are repairable and replaceable. People replace parts on cars all the time, they call it MODDING. There is no frame per se. Cars are unibody. All those "frame" rails can be replaced. The positive in this besides the fact that you are ok, is from what I can see it's pretty much all replacing parts. I prefer that to repairing body panels.
Sorry for the long boring posts but I wrote estimates for auto damage for about 3 years and over the last two I had a couple "mishaps" in the canyons so I have dealt with it from both sides. Also if it's the other persons fault, her insurance has to pay for a rental until your car is done.
