CMC / paint issues.

Hey everyone,

I've been searching for the past couple hours but can't find the answer so figured i'd make my own thread.

i take my 2008 GSR into the dealership (south coast mitsu) in southern ca on thursday for the CMC replacement, do i need to mention not to reflash or anything of the sort before they start??

Also I'm having some really ****ty paint chipping/clear coat peeling issued and all I've come across so far is

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ead-merge.html

but no real consensus as to whether anything can be done. i wash/polish/clay/wash/wax at least quarterly & its a garage queeen so I'm not really sure whats causing the problems, i will take some pictures shortly to post them up

They are working on your cmc---no need to reflash anything or even connect the cable--now if you make a statement like that and you were thinking warranty work of any kind forget it..Not sure where you stand on warranty just mentioning. just let it go or you draw attention to all the wrong things.

The clear coat on these is extremely soft, but your issue is a little extreme for a garage queen.

That car needs a serious detail to make it atleast presentable. But yeah, looks crazy.

Nothing against u man...
But did you wax/detailed it properly?
That looks like someone used bar to polish the surface without applying anything after they did the job....
I had 2 evo Xs. my 08 MR and 14 gsr didn't have this at all.

Yeah, but then again he bought it used. Ive owned my x for a little over a month now and ive been meticulous about detailing to preserve it.

yeah I'm pretty good with detailing imo and making sure every step is done properly, I'm currently trying to find a shop in the greater Southern ca area to get quotes for a new color applied, hopefully ill get something out of the ordinary, or my other option is just wrapping over it, but I'm hesitant the flaws will just show and ill end up paying for paint job anwyays.

got a couple days to figure it out, no real rush & its just an eye sore to myself lol still looks good from a distance and pulls hard when i need to it

preferably vista/carlsbad/encinitas area but wiling to travel if necessary.

i got the number for mitsu claims rep today from one of the dealers here who said he's heard of other patrons getting this covered, but with 68K on my odometer i kinda doubt it lol

You could smooth that paint down, clay bar and vinyl wrap it.
