Don't know anything about good aftermarket hoods for the evo, but that would only cost about 400-500 to fix perfectly.

Depends how much you wanna spend. Carbon by Design makes a reasonably priced one (around $1000 shipped). Varis makes a very good hood, but runs closer to $2k

I'd just get some touchup paint or have a good shop work it out.

Had this exact same thing happen to my evo last year. Prep, materials and labor was over $1000.

You were overcharged big time.

This is a 1.5-2 hour job tops and the paint can be blended down from the top of the hood accordingly with very minimal effort.

You are probably right. It was an insurance claim, so the shop most likely milked it. Out of pocket was $100(for the deductible) and my insurance premium was not affected.

They always do, and $100 bucks is not bad to have something like this taken care of properly.

Actually some of those marks will most likely come off with a good buff. So if you dont want to spend any money and live with a small dent you could.

Been talking to my Insurance company, They are will to pay for a Carbon Fiber hood as long as its of great quality, fitment, and safety standards. Thats if the hood needs to be replaced and its less money then stock with paint.

Been looking at the ViS,Seibon, carbon creations, Duraflex products.

Thanks for all the feed back guys really appreciate it alot

What company? I have never been with a company that would replace OEM parts with aftermarket. I am seriously curious.

Any? They estimate the replacement cost and cut you a check for that less your deductible. If you want to use it on aftermarket parts you can. If you'd rather pocket it and leave the dent, you can do that too.

This^^

It's not like they buy you a hood and ship it to you. Their job is to cover your cost of replacing parts that have you back to new.
