jerky...bad motor mount?

After about 5000 miles on a new exedy twin disk clutch I started getting a lot of jerkiness if not really careful when disengaging in first gear. I'm thinking I blew a motor mount but puzzled because it only happens from start never notice anything odd otherwise, like punching it in the torque zone when the clutch is already engaged (400ft lbs)

I've read up a bit on aftermarket harder durometer motor mount bushings but all I could glean from that research was that if too hard it will make the car vibrate...I couldn't find out why they were changed in the first place.

If you go to a competition clutch is it recommended to change out certain motor mounts?

is there a certain motor mount that is most vulnerable (I've read that the front is super easy to change...others not so)

Am I off base about motor mounts?...something else?

Any info appreciated...thanks

Are you sure the jerkyness is not just from the engagment of the clutch and it being new to you it sounds like? If it was a motormount it would also be apparent when driving at speed or corning which i believe you said its just fine once your moving.

truth...it was hell getting used to this new clutch. Friggin on-off switch it is.

Yeah it could just be the clutch I guess but feels like excessive engine movement to me...didn't do it until I had ~5k mil or so on the new clutch It really wouldn't surprise me if I broke something...maybe tore up some rubber in one of the mounts because this thing hits so hard now.... from 1st to 2nd when I'm on it hard such that I might need dental work because of it

Yeah...no worries otherwise and cornering (would cornering issues be side mount related)

Well i mean your best best would just be to grab a jack and crawl around and check out the mounts and visually inspect them for damage. Or just buy some stiffer ones or inserts and that will for sure remedy your problem. Although you may get more feedback aka vibration from the stiffer mounts. I had motor mount inserts on my Rsx-s and it made it vibrate a little nothing crazy. But it deffiniltly helped the motor mounts out under hard shifting.

Hmmm. My experience is the other way around - very jerky(on/off) for the first few thousand miles and then smooth out. I only have one front mount by the transmission replaced with a Red insert though.

Definitely not the mounts. I thought it was the same thing when I first got my car, it already had an aftermarket clutch. I get those violent jerks when flooring it. Checked out the mounts and they are fine

bogging

Hello again,
I don't know if the bogg down is because of the engine or tranny. I have a chip, down pipe, cold air and exhaust.
Please let me know.
Thank you

Thanks Alex,
I'll take it in the shop. Is there a clutch assembly that you recommend?
