Back in a evo for the 3rd time
I'm so tempted to get the last evo. I had a 03, 05mr, 06mr and now thinking about the evo x and keeping it. Do you guys feel the X is a down grade or upgrade from the last model.
I would love to find a great deal. Maybe i'll wait until the 15 discounts out.

For daily driving I think it's definitely an upgrade. I'm sure there's advantages / disadvantages to the IX's and X's that I haven't been in the X long enough to figure out yet, but this car has proven to be a pretty amazing machine also if you start looking through the forums. I don't think you can go wrong either way. The X definitely has more of a modern feel to it. I was always a IX guy but when I had a hard time finding one that wasn't raped or have way to many miles I got more into the X and couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I've driven mine all over the country, have 98000 miles on it without ANY maintenance issues what so ever-
Having owned a modiefied VIII(2005) and now a brand new 14 X. I dont miss my VIII at all. The X is better looking, better interior, more power from bolt-ons, handles better, better seats etc etc. The tuning world has finally come around to the idea of the X and now your seeing more 9 second drag X's getting close to the 8 second barrier, more 900-1000++whp X's. Its just becoming the face of the evo so to speak where as for a while we only cared about the CT9A.

I agree with you guys. I only made the daily driver comment earlier in the thread because I haven't jumped into mods yet. Actually just placed my order for an ETS intake, but the more research I'm doing on the X the more I'm realizing the power this motor can put out, and the drivetrain in it does seem pretty amazing.

For the money this is an amazing car. My wife calls mine "the beast" and she comes from a family of muscle car owners. If you get into stupid high HP you'll need to do some transmission building. But thats a staple of building any high performance car. If you want to stay below 400 HP you can get there with mostly bolt-ons and a great tune. Just make sure you work with a great tuner.
I've looked to other cars b4 ie corvettes, vipers, porches, M3. And I'd like to own those cars. But the X just fits my personality much better, is such an amazing car, so well rounded. Maybe a Ruff Porche.......
Good to know. I will miss the evo and hope they do release a final edition for the US. I don't mind buying a 2015 without the recaro at a higher discount. I'm going to wait it out since I feel most people will go with 2014's and see if the 2015 stay on the lots.

It seems they are pushing the 14s more also. The dealership I bought from showed me 3 14s and I had to ask about looking at the 15. Went with this one due to the recaros and I fell in love with the blue. The 15 turned me off when I found out it didn't have the recaros.
