battery vent

I recently swapped out the oem panasonic battery and didn't realize there was a vent tube attached. I bought a new battery that does vent but I am not 100% sure where the tube attaches to the car. I see a small hole next to the negative terminal but I can't be sure that's where the hose goes. The hose sort of fits there. Can anyone verify where the vent tube should be attached?

I'm not sure where the vent tube exits or "vents to". I just unplugged it when I swapped my battery and let it hang loose.

That defeats the purpose of the tube. It should be vented outside the vehicle. I've checked both the service manual and owner's manual but there isn't any direction on this. I believe the 90 degree elbow was pointed toward the floor board in its stock configuration so I think the hose was just jammed into the hole in the floor board.

Surely, someone with the stock panasonic battery can confirm this.

Sorry I thought you were referring to a small battery kit or something similar. My Braille battery does not have a vent, that's why I didn't hook the tube back up, it is still "venting" to the stock location. I may go take a look after work. I was under the impression that the stock tube vented with a little plug under the car, keeping the gas out of the passenger compartment.

Ok, yeah if you have a sealed battery you don't have to vent. I opted for a battery that must be veneted.

I've been searching where the tube goes but can't find any info. If anyone that knows for sure can chime it, it would be appreciated.
