Bought my first Evo!
Hey guys,
I recently purchased my first Evo, and couldn't be more excited!
I purchased a white 2014 evo mr. Being a long time subaru guy, i decided to switch teams for a bit and see how the evo compares to the STi. i get the car in a week, we will see how it goes

You don't see people going from evos to subarus..very rare. People tend to like the STI because of kits popularity and all the events they hold. Most sti guys have nothing more than bolt ons and like to just cruise together, so it seems. I love having an Evo in an area where they're VERY uncommon, I see STI's every single day. I like the "hate" so to speak that I tend to get.
I had a 15 STi which I got rid of. The car didn't seem worth it with their motor issues and slew of other issues.
1 - bone stock motor failure. So many 15 failures on the forums it's scary
2 - thin leather (I think you could poke your finger through it)
3 - rattles, I'm pretty sure they make them with rattles
4 - thin paint
5- wind shield was thinner than the paint I'm pretty sure. They crack when they see rocks on the side of the road.
Hopefully I don't have any many problems when I pick up an Evo.

before I bought another evo I thought I'd give subaru a chance and buy the new wrx that came with a new motor and twin scroll turbo, needless to say I'm glad I didn't, my buddy bought one, had a valve go bad, 2 seeks later put a hole in the motor, subaru just can't build a motor worth modding, and I've had friends with stock stis also who have had ringland failure, one of my good friends has had to open his motor 3 times lol

white is right. haha.
i once bought a low-mileage WW '06 MR and found it to be the perfect car for me. i panic sold and hated myself. scored an '05 WRX (true, not an STi) because it was my favorite-looking of all the ones we got in the U.S. and really cheap. it was really comfortable for daily driving but i hated working on it other than doing the timing belt. what a nightmare. oh, and with full bolt-ons and the larget OEM turbo avail, i never made 300whp. yeah. no thanks.
as soon as i came across my current WW '06 MR i quick-sold the WRX (loosing a few $k) and overpaid for my current Evo. LOL.
you know what though? i don't regret over paying one single bit.
the one thing i'll say about Subaru is that the community seems to be friendlier towards each other than the Evo crowd. especially in my area.
