Bogus move by dealer

So one year ago I bought my X used from a dealer that wasn't a Mitsu dealer. I tried out the car and it had a couple issues. Before I signed everything I was told that I was going to be getting a third part warranty for free because of the issues (grinding third gear). I didn't get the car checked out until a few months at Moore Automotive. I always thought I had a bad tune because it was overboosting, turns out the manifold was cracked. I took it back to the dealer I bought it from. Fast forward a couple weeks, they give me a call from service telling me that I don't have a warranty. I rush up there with all my paperwork and show them that I had a contract for the warranty. The finance manager tells me that the warranty was never paid. I pointed out that they took out the money from my gap insurance (that's another story) even though they told me it was going to be free. She agreed to take care of it. A few weeks went by and I got my card in the mail for the third party warranty. Today I called them up because I had a question about a claim that I'm was going to submit in a couple weeks. The rep tells me that someone at the dealer cancelled my contract 2 weeks after I had picked my car back up in December. I call the dealer and tell them this and now they tell me that they don't show any record of me having a warranty. I went and dropped off the same paperwork as before and now I'm just waiting to hear back from them.

Sorry for the long block of text. I am extremely aggravated at how some dealers will treat their customers. Good thing I have everything in writing

And dealers wonder why they get a bad rep.

Sounds like you have enough paperwork to get this worked out though.

I want to give them a chance to make it right. They're not being rude or uncooperative. They change the staff every time I visit so they have no idea what has happened in the past year

This looks like its going to end badly---the dealer hasn't done anything in good faith--except take your trust. I would ask around for a good lawyer that will work on a contingency, That trans isn't going to be cheap, the warranty need to be re-instated to its fullest original timeframe and intended coverage and the car needs to be fully inspected and up to par, yours not theirs. Good luck,

That is very unlikely to happen given the low amount of reward possibility in this situation.

make sure you keep your original documents/paperwork and give them copies.

Dont give them the time man, im telling you. All they are doing is stalling, trying to find a way to slither out of it, or trying to get rid of more paper trail. You need to start blowing this up, and blow it up now.

You should still notify Bbb and/or mistu customer relations regardless of the turnout.

Sounds like you need to go to an attorney.

I called them today 3 times. Left 2 messages and no call back. Tomorrow I'm heading over there and demanding that it be corrected or they can cut me a check for what was stolen from my gap insurance. I don't think I'll go to attorney because it would just take a lot of my time and money away from me. For now I'm ruling that out.
