Opinions needed.. Considering 100k mile evo 2010

Hey all, I have been on this forum a while back with my 06 when I had it and made some good numbers. As time has passed I moved on to other things and now just drive a brz daily for gas. I am on search for an evo but was wondering if 100k is too much.

According to the autotrader ad it's up for 22 but i'm sure it can be haggled down to 19. Immaculate condition on outside and carfax has a lot of service records. Is it worth it to get this high a mileage car or spend about 8k more and get 2013 with 29k miles. Both are available, but obviously less price is good but that mileage is high.

What is a good price for this good condition 100k mil evo? Any things that die out at that time for the X?

Update: After seeing that the mileage was way too high and had a lot of body chips/dents/paint issues i didn't go with that.
Next I saw the 29k miles 30k 2013 but it was in an accident and had front end damage that was not even fixed. Shady dealership:
Lastly I ended up getting a 2015 gsr white with 9 miles.

THank you guys for all your inputs. I am glad to be back on the evo forums!

Evo does seem to be reliable but 100k is too much imo. It's best days are probably gone by.

That's what my gut seems to say. Seems like it's best to go lower miles to play it safe

I recently sold my almost brand new X and bought a 03 with 123K miles!! No issues at all. Did a compression test 155 across all 4. If it checks out why not?

My bolt on 05 with cams still had great compression at 105k. But still, go for the lower mileage car, man.

if its going to be a just for fun car then you may be OK especially if everything checks out like a compression test and checking for leaks. But if it's going to be a daily driver buy a lower mileage car.

I am getting everybody's point here about if it checks out. I am leaning towards low mileage just for overall piece of mind and that it is just starting out its life. The 100k is still ok if it was much less like 18k but I doubt they'd go that low

Ehh i mean if the car checks out it may have tons of miles of smiles left in it. But obviously will prolly require a little more maintenance. But depends on your money situation. But the if you have the money might as well go for the lower miles one.

I would get the one with 100K on it. Especially if you can get it for 19K.

So you get the high mileage one for 19, drop another 2-3K in maintenance items (it may not even need that much) and enjoy.

EDIT - You should check maintenance records to see if the AYC/ACD pump has been replaced. I would assume with that many miles that it has been, but you never know.

After all this, I'm at least going to test drive this car and see it. Below is the link to the ad to those wondering. It seems clean and has an ets uicp, but not sure of what else.

For the record I also go for mileage and warranty, but that one above certainly passes my initial "go take a look at it" criteria.

It doesn't have any of the usual stupid kid crap on the car, and I would be willing to bet that a good deal of that mileage is highway related.

Stock exhaust, stock ride height, inner wheels fairly clean for the mileage. I would have to give that one a good test.

Didn't even get through half way through your post and when I saw it was 22k I said he'll no lol 100k is way to much miles in my opinion, I always give myself a 50k and under limit on cars. That being said I've seen evos for the 22-25k range with way less miles

My 2010 SE had 72K on it when I got it and was priced right at 21k at the same Mitsubishi dealership it was purchased from new. They had done ALL the maintenance since it rolled off the lot and came back. That was the determining factor for me.

22k isn't THAT bad. Evo IX's with that mileage sell for about that.
