Cool One reason that you need to buy an HKS exhaust now

I was shopping around and found this:

The newly reduced prices are applicable to the most sought after exhaust series from HKS, including Hi-Power, Racing, Ti-Carbon, Sport, Turbo, and Legamax systems – providing the opportunity for younger enthusiasts to purchase the same high-quality performance made-in-Japan exhaust systems used by successful race teams and builders around the world.

At a time when many manufacturers are increasing prices, HKS has evaluated the North American market and determined that lowering prices on exhaust systems will help strengthen the brand that changed the aftermarket performance industry in Japan more than 40 years ago. The reduced prices are also a way for HKS to give back to loyal customers by offering a better value. So HKS basically has two exhausts for the Evo. The Hi-Power exhaust (3 inches) is a loud one, and the Super Turbo (3 inches) exhaust is a quiet one. I don't think anyone here would want the Legamax, because it's a 2.5 inch exhaust. I'm personally thinking about getting the Super Turbo one. Any thoughts? Reviews?

Based on their website's illustration (http://www.hksusa.com/lancer-evoluti...turbo-muffler/), the Super Turbo "muffler" is made of "high quality stainless steel." So, yeah, I agree with you. That might be the reason we don't find too many reviews/videos/hypes about this exhaust anywhere previously.

Freight is a constant here, $1000 is a much better price. Japanparts has several dual titanium exhausts that can be had in the low 2000's.

Just to confirm, the 31029-AM003 exhaust is made of SUS304 stainless steel.

We realized the original pricing was too high for the North American market, so we were able to work with HKS Japan to reduce the prices on these systems.

Yes, 75mm (3") cat-back with 124mm (5") tips. It is a single muffler design, centrally mounted with dual tips (one on each side).

Still not quite enough to convince me to buy one. Just quoting a local tuner:

Had a car on the dyno last night, took the HK$ muffler off and it made 30 whp more. Inside all the 3"piping and fat 5" tips they always put a restrictor. Always

Did it make 30 whp over opened pipe after the catalytic converter pipe (i.e. exhaust fume comes out right from the cat pipe)? Or did he make 30 whp over a different cat-back exhaust? If latter, what cat-back did he use to realize such a gain?
