Shops cutting off aftermarket support for the Evo X after production run ends
I can see it going one of two ways, like a Toyota Supra with plenty of shops willing to work on and tune, with a decent amount of after market parts available, or like the NSX with only a handful of boutique shops that charge a premium for custom parts and fabrication.
Cobb is a good example of an outfit that's been weening off their support for the 10, and will likely become simply a tuner with little to no parts and hardware.

I agree. It's hard to find a used evo that hasn't been modded. The after market should survive well after the production end.
I think what people should be more concerned with is not being able to get OEM parts. If they stop producing aftermarket parts for the car, which I highly doubt they will then buy a different car - or get parts fabricated. That's what race teams do. You get what you pay for, and if people continuously boo hoo expensive parts and then cry about their broken cars then what do you expect? (That's a rhetorical question). Stay stock or pay for better parts. And to add to that, no matter how nice, new, expensive the part is they never quite fit like OEM.
Just look at how many shops have cut off support for DSM cars like the Eclipse. It has been such a popular platform and there has always been a genuine demand for an aftermarket, but the owners' stinginess was what really sank the ship.

And I want even more cosmetic and suspension options!

Not true either. Cobb is currently developing even more parts for the Evo X.
80% of all evo Xs here in texas are tuned using cobb APs....
Ive never even seen an evo here where I live(northern VA) using an AccesPort. Everyone open source tunes and if you even google "evo x cobb AP" you will see most of the advice is swaying people not to run one.
I would not sweat it, there are still, though not too many, new aftermarket parts being made for my unicorn Mazdaspeed6; the support for the Evo will still be there for years to come....
IMO, COBB is good to get a decent, basic tune on a relatively stockish car, such as with your average bolts on parts. personally, i wouldn't want to use it and i'd recommend against it for people with powertrains that have been modified further. not saying that's how it should be for everyone, just my opinion.
i'm willing to bet there some high-HP cars out there on COBB, i just don't personally know of any.

all valid points, but some of us prefer more options with our tunes. Ecuflash has a ton of programming stuffed in there. For free.
