Cobb is a good example of an outfit that's been weening off their support for the 10, and will likely become simply a tuner with little to no parts and hardware.
Cobb is because evo guys do HARDLY ever use cobb or even mention them. No one ussed their AP and really gets tuned by them, ofcourse they will kind of let us go.

I agree. It's hard to find a used evo that hasn't been modded. The after market should survive well after the production end.

i am not really getting what you are saying here.

No worries. Quality aftermarket support will be around for years to come.

I approve this message.

Actually I speculate this can possibly happen to the Evo if the new Evo XI stuck in limbo for many years, or it is no longer based on 4B11T. First gen NSX was because it was overpriced (in some people's perception) and the N/A architecture wasn't for turbocharging. The Evo could be because too many owners don't want to pay for expensive parts.

Just look at how many shops have cut off support for DSM cars like the Eclipse. It has been such a popular platform and there has always been a genuine demand for an aftermarket, but the owners' stinginess was what really sank the ship.

I hope, I hope, haha! And I want even more cosmetic and suspension options!

Not true either. Cobb is currently developing even more parts for the Evo X.

Ive never even seen an evo here where I live(northern VA) using an AccesPort. Everyone open source tunes and if you even google "evo x cobb AP" you will see most of the advice is swaying people not to run one.

I have the cobb tuner and i like it because its easy. And it is nice when you dont have any tuners that are close. And makes it easy to have different maps. But to each his own.

I would not sweat it, there are still, though not too many, new aftermarket parts being made for my unicorn Mazdaspeed6; the support for the Evo will still be there for years to come....

if i can find performance parts for a 1992 Honda Civic, i'm sure you'll be able to find parts for a 2015 Evo.

all valid points, but some of us prefer more options with our tunes. EcuFlash has a TON of programming stuffed in there. for free.
IMO, COBB is good to get a decent, basic tune on a relatively stockish car, such as with your average bolts on parts. personally, i wouldn't want to use it and i'd recommend against it for people with powertrains that have been modified further. not saying that's how it should be for everyone, just my opinion.
i'm willing to bet there some high-HP cars out there on COBB, i just don't personally know of any.

Yup I debated between Open Source and AP and decided on the AP because of all the extra stuff you can do.

Logging on the fly without a laptop, able to switch maps and carry multiple maps, valet mode, anti-theft mode etc.
