actually reading the full mods isnt actually that bad! but theres better options out there.

 

Full race kit is 5500 + you would need a few mods like test pipe and gauges still... but now you can make up to 800whp or keep the boost low and make 500
and you are not stock frame

 

...are there many other options available for the X?

 

If you're near PA chad has a BorgWarner 7163 kit for about that price with all those options a manifold intercooler both pipes the turbo ect. well its actually cheaper, I may have added a few things to make it around 7k

im sure someone does. but this package does not give you room to grow so I wouldn't really recommend it.

 

I purchased a full race turbo kit for way less than that, there are way more options when it comes to turbo kits though

 

A couple of you mentioned better options, can you point me in the right direction? I've had an 08 GSR, a 14 MR, and just traded that in for a 15 FE. I have searched a lot and cannot find anything comparable to this. I'm sure you can save a couple dollars by piecing everything out, but I feel like getting everything as a complete package with no internal modifications makes it a pretty good deal. Unfortunately I do not know enough to feel comfortable ripping the engine apart. Anybody know of other complete packages like this out there?

Add fueling, FMIC and piping to one of the above kits and you've got an awesome street machine.

 

lol yeah because you need more power than 500. Come on now.

 

I was thinking the same thing, but I am curious if anyone has bought this package and thrown it on the dyno. I've seen a lot of other threads where the stx 400 didn't live up to what AMS was claiming it did. I wonder if the 500 is the same..

 

Their kits are all rated higher than you'd see in practical application. They aren't WHP numbers.
