I thought I saw a thread somewhere that had this kit on a dyno at 400whp. You know what that means though? Nothing.
If I was going to spend that kind of money I'd want an open source dyno tune. Talk to a shop and they can give you a package price.

The packages are estimated flywheel power. So STX400 is roughly 300-350whp depending on dyno and STX500 is probably roughly 400+whp. I mean it's just a GTX3076R with full bolt ons, it's been done before. I have the same mods as an STX400 (with HFC) and made 335whp on AMS's dyno tune.

I apologize wasn't the most well rounded answer. I think this package is directed at people that won't be getting more power down the road and just want a turn key no fuss solution. To some that is worth the higher cost of this, others will take the time to find a good shop locally to meet those numbers, or if they want, exceed them.

So I was poorly trying to suggest that someone that bought this probably wouldn't want or need more power down the road. That being said, most people would be more than happy with 500hp I would suggest, and higher than that is really reserved for certain people that there is never enough lol.

Good luck either way someone goes, it's their money to spend how they see fit . I have the benefit of a really good shop close so I would just work with them on a build instead of this option. If I lived in the boonies with no tuners close though? Might be something I would consider.

Lot of variables...

ahh ok, makes more sense now. I think "500" is the magic number for a lot of people. No one really NEEDS more power lol they just want more to be faster than others.

Although, I know plenty of people have said they wanted to hit 500 whp buying a turbo that has quick spool and all. Hitting that number, and then wanting more lol.

I have a friend that bought a 9 about a year and a half ago, and with being at like 450whp on his previous evo 9 build, said hes gonna keep this one mainly stock, just exhause, intake and some exterior stuff. Here he is just finished building his motor getting ready to drop it back in and gonna go for 800 whp

While people who bought STX500 seem to have enjoyed reliable power, I still feel better if it goes with a very basic engine build for added reliability. STX400 with a 3-port and tune is the most I will do on a stock engine.

Zvi Bodie used to say a good investment decision is the one that lets you sleep soundly at night. Same idea here. A good build and the build that lets you sleep soundly at night. If I can't sleep and worry about the engine might give up tomorrow, that is not a good build, eh?
