DRL question after HID install

Awhile back I converted my 2011 non-sss to sss oem headlamps/hid's and it works great, and I know 2011+ don't have automatic drl's, but I've always wanted to ask, how do you go about turning on those daytime running lights after the conversion? They are the only lights that don't turn on after I converted it. I tried putting a relay for the drl, but it still didn't work.

I've tried searching, but all the threads are all about disabling the drl's and not enabling them. Unless there is a specific reason why the drls will never turn on, any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I would assume that the way people disabling the drl's is the way you need to turn them on just reverse what they have had to do. I know that on the new EVOs they dont work if the E-brake is on so there is some sort of a relay involved there.

This is a actually a really good question. Im currently working on a pair of depo headlights and am doing the wiring right now and having been thinking of how to connect the drl. Everyone the question is how to turn them ON!! First question for you is did you buy oem headlights or depo's, not that it should matter?
It seems to me that you are incorrectly wiring your relay harness. Are you trying to achieve a plug and play system where there are no direct wires to the headlight light bulb? If not the only thing I have been thinking is running a drl relay kit from battery directly to the light bulb itself. If you've done this and it's still not turning on then perhaps you did not hook up the third wire correctly. Usually this third wire connects to side marker, etc to tell the drl when to turn on/off.

Yep I installed a set of oem sss headlights/leveling switch. I tried just putting a relay in the fuse box for the place listed for the drl, but it still wouldn't turn on, even with hand brakes down. I'm thinking maybe the drl is controlled by the ECU, so since mine never came with drl's it must not be programmed to turn on. I'm hoping I'm wrong, but at least that's my hypothesis.
