Generally it's not a good idea to turbo a non turbo car due to all the additional strengthening a turbo based engine has. It's not the same car, only with a turbo attached to it. So I would suggest either saving a bit more and getting an EVO, or just enjoying the Lancer GT as it sits.
Hey Kody, welcome to the forum.
I'd have to agree with Napalm here that I would not recommend turbo a Lancer. I had a similar conversation just 2 weeks ago with a buddy who drives a '12 Lancer, after getting in my car he wants a turbo in his too and he emailed me this link. I told him more or less exactly what Napalm said above. I would recommend you save up and buy an Evo if you want the power and experience, if your finance doesn't allow that maybe consider getting an used one but don't add a turbo to a normal Lancer especially if you buy a brand new 2015 model. If for some reason you're set on doing this I'd at minimum suggest getting an used Lancer with no warranty left and go from there but remember that whichever turbo kit you end up buying isn't just a one time bill, my experience with adding a turbo to a non-turbo car is that something else will always go wrong, be prepared financially and also possibly a backup vehicle.

This forum should answer all your questions:

And consider a used Ralliart as well. You will still make waaay more power than a turbo lancer and more reliably...

thanks guys and the evo is 40 some odd thousand well the lancer gt awc is the same thing as the ralliart but the gt is only 21 thousand where im from not to mention im still a student so gt is in my price range and ive heard of turboing lancer themselves and not having to many problems if you get the right kit its easy and i also like the gt because the engine is a 2.4 the evo is only a 2.0 as well is the ralliart and bigger engine easier to work on for me at lease but thanks for the info guys
Hey man, just enjoy being a student, focus on that, and do well. Get a reliable fun car in your pricerange and just drive it. Down the road when you have a job and have graduated, then start worrying about a fun fast car.
Right now, if you start down this road, your grades and opportunities will suffer while you try and fix things on the car that break because you are pushing it beyond what it was designed to handle.
Relax, the fast cars aren't going anywhere! Focus on what is important then go have fun.

Yea either buy a used evo but don't by a lancer and turbo it there are a lot of differences between the two. And I don't care how careful you are but when you turbo a non turbo car it is going to put a lot of strain on rods pistons bearings and transmission parts. So you end up dumping a ton of money into a car that would still be lucky if it was as fast as a stock evo.

Ok in make believe world when this happened, was it over and over and over back to back runs? No? Yeah probably not because the non EVO would break.
If it was 'just like an EVO' to buy a 20k car and slap a turbo on it, don't you think all of us would have done this?
Learn from those that have done what you are thinking about doing, and regretted it. Benefit from other peoples experience instead of making a massive mistake.
Turbo'ing a non turbo lancer = Big mistake
I mean for the all the money he is going to dump into making a turbo kit work for that car he could have just bought a used evo. And of course at some point it could be faster I mean heck any car with enough money thrown at it could be faster...but would it be wise to dump all that money into it when you could have just bought a better starting point? Prolly not but good luck I guess!
