That's 3 . Intake I question until you're replacing the turbo. I'd much rather get an UICP than an intake. That is, unless you're not doing a tune, in which a lot of intakes will lean it out. That is the reason the ETS intake appears to make power on a stock turbo. But I'm being nit picky here. My favorite set up has always been: Catback, HFC, Intake, 3 Port, UICP, LICP for making power. Of course my #1 and #2 mods are brake fluid and pads.

I meant to say 3 lol. UICP is a good mod for more response. I have yet to replace my licp. Probably not going to. Even when I go with the 18k I'm still gonna stick with the stock one

Don't forget the intercooler! You need to be able to retain your new found power.

I have a MAP O2 dump, HFC, and a 3.5" single exit, and a tune. I still get back fires, never get tired of it though

Driving style has a lot to do with it as well.

You lean on it at mid rpms and start to hit boost, then let off youll get a fuel dump. Tuning can only eliminate so much fuel and it will get dumped out the exhaust port. Due to the heat in the exhaust/turbo it can ignite and backfire.

Nothing wrong with it at all. Just part of owning a turbo car and physics.

It seriously only happens when I let off the gas and I will hear just 1 pop. That's it. Then it won't do it again for the next 1hr or so. It's weird. I don't mind the back fire I just want to make sure this is not something I should worry about.. I have a ets intake as of now and that's it. Again, it back fires once every 1hr. But sometimes at a real low rpm it will pop twice quietly. Then if I'm crushing at 25mph and I let my foot off the gas it pops once.
It is caused from the car running rich as many people have stated unburned fuel ignites in the exhaust causing the backfire. As for why it just started happening within the last 2k miles is do to the exhaust being broken in. As the exhaust gets hot and cools down over and over it usually gets louder and backfires more. Also our cars run rich from the factory which explains the unburned fuel in the exhaust in the first place

^ Thank you. Now i understand.

So, From what i understand.. I should get a UICP (Any brand that i choose because they are all the same) and a 3-port boost controller (Which one is the best bang for the buck?) and a Intake & Exhaust...? Then i get a tune.

Most usually go with cobb or grimmspeed. Pretty much the same price. Both will do the job.

ETS intake + ETS Catback + No tune = should be fine since the intake will kind of even out the rich factory tune correct?

Not correct the intake has been known to lean out the car. Cobb has the right values for the intake that you have to edit in the original map. So if you do have a intake I would recommend getting a tune to stay safe.

It's always best to get a tune when adding parts to a car. It makes it safe and sound and happy. If you don't, you still run risks.

For UICP I would say ETS just because their build quality is top notch and they are reputable. As for a 3-port boost controller go Grimmspeed. Intake and exhaust I would say go with ETS again I personally love their parts.

Yes I have a ets intake and their V2 exhaust currently with no tune because I'm deciding on a UICP then I will look into the Grimm speed boost controller you are mentioning for it and a ets intercooler and use the stock piping before I get the car on the dyno. I just needed advice on the things I need before I get the tune. Because I'm not going mod crazy and I'm trying to avoid doing this twice. Currently I'm leaning towards the monster UICP because I'm a fan of their polished pipe and red theme..

While I love ETS I went with the Muse 1 piece UICP. I like the 1 piece design and it was dirt cheap.

Honestly even if you keep the stock intercooler you will be fine the biggest piece is the piping.
